Wellington pre- sided and meeting was opened with singing of the hymn, '"0 Come All Ye Faithful", followed by the Lord's Prayer in unison. The Bible reading was taken by Mrs. Wellington. "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" was the sec- ond hymn followed by prayer by Mrs. G. G. Howse. The work of the after- noon was quilting a quilt for the bale to be sent to Britain, Mrs. F. Hynd- man offered her home for the Decem- ber meeting. The Mizpah benediction was repeated and lunch was served by the committee, ;Mrs. A. Thornton and Mrs. T. L, !McInnes, assisted by the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Wm, Bolton (nee Flor- ence Anger) were honored on Friday evening when friends and neighbours gathered at the home of Florence's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo, Anger. Hudson of Gorrie were entertained at a miscellan- eous shower on Friday night in Han- over, Watson - Heibein At the home of the bride's parents on Saturday, November 15, by Rev. G. G. Hudson - Steuart Miss Mary Isabel Steuart and Mr. Jas. Emerson Hudson were quietly married on Saturday, November 16, by Rev. Mr. Hutton of Molesworth. Andrew Emmerson There passed away on Monday morning, November 17, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Downey, a respected resident of Gorrie in the per- son of Andrew Emmerson in his 81st year. Although in failing health for the past two years from a heart con- dition he was confined to bed for only a few days. Be was born hi the town- ship of East Zona near Woodstock, and had fanned at Wiarton, at Kilsyth for V years and in Mint° township, Per the past thirteen years be has made his home with his daughterl Mary, Mrs. E, Downey of Gorria. He was married in Waterloo County in 1889 to Mary Aim Fulliek, who pre- deceased him November 13th, 1030. To them were born seven, children, four of whom have paSSed On. He was also the lait of his own family. Surviving are one son, Allan Ent- merson of Owen Sound, two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Knapp of Detroit and Mrs. E. Downey, Gorrie, thirteen grandchildren and three great grand- children. 'The funeral service was held tut 'Wednesday afternoon from M. IX Ir- vit'S Funeral Home and was tondutt- ed by Rev. G. G. Harness Shop Damaged On Friday evening at 6.30. p.m., Archie Irwin's Harness Shop was bad- ly damaged by an explosion from some unknown cause. Damage from fire was slight but practically every window was broken and the wall daMaged. Wingham Fire Dept. was called but had to return to respond to a call in Wingham, so. Harriston Fire'Dept..was called. Many volunteer helpers gather- ed. Mrs. Cecil Day underwent a major operation in Wingham hospital on Thursday and is getting along as well as can be expected.
