Mrs. Mac Ross, Mrs. Thos. Moore and
Mrs. Albert Coultes led in prayer. Mrs.
aroskortla gave a read.ng on Wycliffe,
Mrs. W. R. Farrier gave one on Wm.
Tyndall, and Mrs, W. J. Watt a read-
ing on St. Jerome. There three men
had a great deal to do with the early
translations of the Bible into English,
in order to place the Bible in the hands
of very man. Each was persecuted
terribly, !but the work went on, with
greater interest. Mrs. Gilbert Beecroft
and Mrs. Norman Coultes sang, I must
take my Saviour with me, and 26s.
Andrew Gaunt sang, How could I help
but love Hint? After the closing of
the meeting, all repaired to the S. S.
Room where lunch was served and the
social time enjoyed by all.
A very successful 'Bazaar was held
in the Memorial Hall on Tuesday last.
This community extends sympathy
to Miss Lizzie Scott and Mr. John,
Scott and Me, Walter Scott of East
Wawanosh in the passing away of their
sister, Miss Agnes Scott, in \\Ingham
Hospital after an illness of about three
weeks.
The Young Adult Group of the
United Church held a social evening
on Tuesday at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Jas. Falconer with a splendid at-
tendance. Mrs. 'Clarettet ,McClenaghatt
was in charge of the opening sing-song
of hymns. All read a Psalm respon.
sively. Mrs. J. D. Ileecroft led in
prayer. Miss Muriel Watt was then
called on to tell the story of her trip to Victoria, by train, This proved very interesting. But the most inter-
esting item was that each thought 'On-
tario to be the best province of them all.
Miss Watt had many interesting sou-
venirs and snaps and pictures to show.
Mts. Lorne Johnston was then called
on to tell of the trip they took by mo-
or. This proved very interesting as
they had taken in many points in U.S.
and the Western provinces, telling, of
dust storms, and heat of 117 degrees;
when travelling home through the
States. Their trip through the moun-
tains after a storm, and through snow,
and on narrow roads, visiting the hint-
chard Gardens, and Stanley Park in
P.c. and coming 'home by Northern
Ontario, and 'Manitoulin Island and on
the ferry to Toberinory. Each receiv-
ed a hearty vote of thanks, and all
were interested in time pictures. Lunch
of pork and beans, and sandwiches and cookies, was served by the hostess, and all enjoyed the social time. The next
meeting will be on November
Will be a Halloween party with every
nne invited to come in costume.
