Harvest Home Services were held
in the Anglican Church on Sunday af-
ternoon, The Rev, C. C. ,Caley of Gor-
rie, was the special minister and de-
livered. a splendid sernAn. During the
service Mr, Jack Reavie of Wingham,
sang two solos, "How Lovely are Thy
Dwellings" and "The Heart of IGod."

part in the parade, A number of the
children were awarded prizes.
The Women's Institute is catering to
the Plowmen's Association Banquet in
the Forrester's Hall this (Wed.) even-
ing.
Mrs. Jos, Dunbar was in Strathroy
visiting Mr, and Mrs. Keith Dunbar,
and her little granddaughter.
Mr. Jack Armstrong was home for
the week-end. Mr. Gibson Armstrong
returned to work after recuperating
from an appendicitis operation,
Mr.. and Mrs. Cecil Wheeler visited
in Lonion recently.
Mr, and Mrs. Milian and baby of
Listowel, visited her mother, Mrs, R.
J. Scott.
The School Fair Concert will be held
in the Forrester's Hall, 'Thursday ev-

on Sunday.
Miss Nora Cook has accepted a pos-

Fay Cook has accepted a position in
Sherbondy's Coffee Shop,
Mrs, Bert Madacks is a patient in
Wingham General Hospital, having
had her appendix removed.
The Play presented in the Forres-
ter's Hall on Friday night by Blyth
Young People was well attended.

Church Ladies' 'Guild was held at the
home of Mrs. F. Shoebottom on Thurs-
day, with a good attendance, The
meeting opened with the singing of the
hymn, "0 God Our Help in Ages
Past" followed by prayer and a Scrip-
ture reading by Rev, Mr. Henderson.
A business session was followed by
a sale. The meeting closed with pray-
er and lunch was served by the hostess.
Entertains At Tea
Mrs, Clarence H. Wade and Miss
Dorothy Wade were "At Home" in-
formally to their many friends last
week when Mrs. Wade entertained at
a trousseau tea in honour of her daugh-
ter, Dorothy, bride-elect of next
Saturday-. The rooms were attractive
with autumn flowers and centering the
lace covered tea table was a beautiful
four-tiered wedding cake and candel-
abra. A large silver bell hung from the
chandelier.
Assisiting the hostess were Mrs,
Jas, McGill of Clinton, Mrs. R. J. Mac-
Kenzie, Miss Beth Brydges, Miss
Elaine Walsh and Miss Nora Van-
Camp.
