The W. A. of St. Stephen's Church
met in the Orange Hall on Thursday
afternoon and quilted two quilts. Mrs.
W. H. Marshall was hostess and serv-
ed a lovely lunch at tea time.
Mrs, Alberta Smith of London, visit-
ed her niece, Mrs. George Galbraith
last week.
Mrs, Harold Hyndman was a patient
in Wingham Hospital several days last
week. She returned home on Saturday
feeling some better. Her mother, Mrs.
Dilworth of Ethel, is with her at pres-
ent.
Messrs. Roy and Stewart Strong
attended the Ayton Fair on Saturday.

Mrs. Percy Colmer and Gary of
Toronto, spent a few days of last
week with her mother, Mrs. Ernest
King. Mr. Colmer spent Sunday here
and they returned home with him,
Confirmation Service
His Grace, Archbishop C. A. Seager,
confirmed a class of twenty-two can-
didates presented by Rev. J. C. Caley
in Trinity Church, Fordwich, on Sun-
day afternoon. The Archbishop ad-
dressed the large congregation choos-
ing as his text, Matt, 9-9, and as Jesus
passed forth from thence He saw a
man sitting at the, receipt of custom,
and He saith unto him, Follow me,
and he arose and followed 1-thn. He •
spoke of the conflict between right
and wrong in the human soul, also
among nations and stressed the need
of a Christian spirit to settle the strife
now exxisting in the world.

MacKenney, Mrs. Mary Archer, Verne
Clark and Edward G. Start, Wrox-
eter, Mrs. F, C. Taylor, Mrs. Jack

ed by the Archbishop.
Mrs. A. Toner was brought home
by ambulance from Victoria Hospital,
London, on Wednesday last, and is
now at the home of her son, Irving,
where she will be confined to bed for
some time.
Mrs. Arthur Chapman and Mrs. Jas,
Shera are both patients in Palmerston
Hospital, as a result of an accident in
which Mr. Jas. Shera's car was invol-
ved about noon on Sunday, near Pal-
merston, Mr. Shera and Shirley and
Mr. Chapman escaped ,,Fith bruises.
