Miss Harris -plans to make her home with members of her family in the West. A number of members and officers of Howick Lions Club attended a Zane meeting in Mount Forest on Fri- day night. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Ridler and baby, Linda Jane, of Toronto, spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Dave Draper and other friends. In Thursday's issue of the London Free, Press a very fine picture was shOwn of Mrs. Cameron Nelson (nee Edythe Martin) of London; with 3000 hours as a Stewardess with Trans Can- ada Airlines.' Mrs. Nelson is the only woman member of the London Flying Club. Daughter of Mrs. Martin ' now of Hamilton, and the late Bert Martin of Wroxeter, the is a graduate 'of Victoria Hospital and Brescia Hall, London. Her husband a Landon drug- gist is also interested in flying and a member of 'the Club. Wroxeter Community Association held a very enjoyable Dance in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening, Wil- bee's Orchestra provided music. Con- veners of the booth were Mrs. Freda MacDonald and Mrs. Ted Smith. The Association hope to provide social en- tertainment throughout the autumn and winter season. Mrs. C. MacKenney presided over the even- ing's programme which began with the singing of "The King" and Invocation by Lion Rev. J. Caley. Distinguished guests were District Governor Lloyd Edighoffer and Mrs. Edighoffer of Mitchell, Deputy Dist- rict Governor Steve Jones and Mrs, Jones of Mount Forest, Mr, R. B. McMurdo, Magistrate of City Courts, Glasgow, Scotland, and Mr, Alex Mc- Murdo, Entertainer, Mr. McFadden, pianist, both of Galt, who delighted those present with readings, songs and stories, the accompanist giving a piano solo by special request also assisting was a local ladies quartette, Misses Thelma Denny, Jean' Moffat, Frances Wylie and Gilberta Howes with Miss K. Hazelwood al the piano. During the evening Deputy District Governor Steve Jones spoke briefly and was followed by District Governor Lloyd Edighoffer, who conducted the installation of officers, whom he urged to take seriously the responsibil- ity they had taken and to give every support to the incoming president, and stated the success of the whole organ- ization depends on the individual ef- fort of officers and members. He congratulated the Club on its past re- cord, and extended good wishes for its future success. The latter is leaving the community to attend University and was presented with a gift of money, the chairman ex- pressed the appreciation of all for his faithful service, Lion Ken Edgar was the busiest man in the hall, and few escaped his eagle eye and fine box. A Contest .naming the Ship caused much amusement at the expense of Lion Howard Wylie, a vote of thanks was tendered the ladies for their excellent dinner. Sawtclt's home. Harvest Home Service Grain, Flowers and Fruit in artistic • arrangement was a lovely setting for the Harvest Thanksgiving Service in St. James Anglican Church on Sunday evening. Sharpin In Witigharn General Hospital, on Saturday, September 20th, the death took place following several 'weeks' lillness with A heart condition, of Alvin E. Sharpin, who was a highly esteemed eitken of 'this community. Iii his 63rd year, Alvin E. Sharpin, was the third son of the late Robert Sharpin and Mary White Sharpin, And was born on the homestead 4th line• of Turnberry.
