Sell was a tower of strength both as
a hitter and as a relief pitcher often
pulling the game out of the fire in the,
last inning. At Kincardine in the nin-
th inning with the score 8-7 for Wing-
ham, Kincardine at bat, one out, two
on bases and one strike on the 'batter,
Seri went in as relief hurler, pitching
five strikes'in succession to retire the
side and put the game on ice
In the Listowel series, Ashton con-
tracted the mumps and Seli had a sore
arm so that George Loughlean had to
carry the load on the mound. His
pitching, along with the team's heavy
hitting was undoubtedly the deciding
factor in the series.
Last, but not least, and probably the
happiest man on the team was the bat
boy, Raymond Bennett, And so, best
wishes to the Red Sox, our juvenile
chatimiens of 194'7 who will be in' there
next year with practically the same
line-up and who know; another cham-
pionship may come to town.
