white streamers, white wedding bells,
and banked with baskets of early aut-
umn flowers, a quiet but pretty wed-
ding was solemnized at the home ckf
Mr. and Mrs. It, G. Gannett, on Wed-
nesday. September 3rd., at high noon,
when their elder daughter, Mary Eliza-
beth, became the bride of Delbert A,
Ewing, son of Mr. and Mrs. 5. 1-I,
Ewing. Rev. Alex, Nitnino performed
the ceremony,
GiVdn in marriage by her father, the
,bride wore a floor-length gown of
ivory satin with long pointed sleeves,
sweetheart neckline and finger-tip veil.
She carried a cascade of red roses and
fern, Miss Ruth Gannett attended her
sister, gowned hi a floor-length blue
taffeta dress and carried pink roses and
fern.
Mr. 'Calvin nurke was best man,
After the reception, the bride 'donned
a gray ,garbardinc suit with blac ac-
cessories and corsage of red roses for
travelling, Cht their return they will
reside in Wittiharn.

At a meeting of the Council on
Monday night, the council dealt with
the only application for the positiOn of
village foreman, that of Mr, John Cow-
an, After considerable discussion it
was moved by Radford and Robinson
that the Matter be left over until the
next meeting of the Council. The fact
that there was a deputation from the
local branch of the Legion present in
behalf of Mr. Cowan, had no weight on
the Council,
Mr. Norval Kyle, manager of the
Bank of Commerce, returned home on
Monday from a few weeks visit in
Western Canada,

sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice and
three tiered shirred skirt, coronet hat
and gloves to match, She carried a
nosegay of red roses, fern and pink
sweetheart roses.

the bride, as first bride'smaid, wore a
lovely yellow floor-length gown of
brocaded organdy, fitted bodice and
full skirt, with coronet hat and gloves
to match, tarrying, a nosegay of cream
roses with fern and Pink sweetheart
roses, Miss Theresa Xing, sister of
the bride, assecond bride's maid, wore
a pretty blue brocaded taffeta, floor-
length gown, with round neckline, fit.

suspended shall have the right to dis-
pose of his stock then on hand.
6. Any person who contravenes and
is found guilty of an infraction of this
By-Law, shall upon conviction forfeit
and pay a fine in the discretion of the
convicting Magistrate but not exceed-
nig, $50.00, exclusive of costs, with
same to be recoverable under The
Summary Convictions Act, R,S,O.,
1937, chapter 136, the provisions of
which shall apply except that in the
case of imprisonment, same shall not
be for a term exceeding twenty-one
clays,
7, This By-Law shall be made public
by three insertions in the Wingham
Advance-Times, a weekly paper pub-
lished in the said Town of Wingham.
8. This By-Law shall come into force
and effect on the 2nd clay of September

The marriage of Margaret Campbell
Coulter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
George H, Coulter of Wingham, to
Clifton Spier Walsh, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon E. Walsh, Belgrave, was
solemnized in St. Andrew's. Presby-
terian Church, on Saturday, September
6th., by the 'Rev. Alexander Nimmo.
Miss June Work was soloist and Mr.
Harold Victor Pyin played ,the wed-
ding music.
Given in marriage by her father
the bride wore a full length gown of
white slipper satin with a soft front
drape ending in a bustle bow at the
back. Her long illusion veil fell over
the short train and she wore a Juliet
cap studded with seed pearls, Her
bouquet was of Better Time roses.
Miss Mae Coulter was maid-of-honour.
The bridesmaids were Misses Elaine
Walsh and Grace Coulter. They were
in orchid taffeta frocks fashioned with
basque bodices, peplums and full skirts
and they carried fan-shaped 'bouquets
of gladioli.
Mr. Gibson Armstrong was grooms-
man and the ushers were Messrs. Jack
Pym and James Coulter. ,
After a reception at the home of the
bride's parents, the couple left on a
wedding trip, They will live in Bel-
grave.
