- Tlte descendants of the late Mr, and
Mrs, john R, Miller of Morris town-
. ship, held. their first re-union ,at the
ji home of Mr, and Mrs. Chester :Higgins
WI near Wingliam. About 60 were in at-
tendance and an enjoyable tithe was
spent in games and social chat.
It was decided to make this an an-
nual event. Committes -were appointed
to make plans for the next re-union to
be held the fiist Saturday in July, 1948.
Those from a ,distance in attendance
were Miss Mary Miller, Detroit; Miss
Lenora Higgins, London; Miss Isobel
:Miller, Clinton; Mr, and /qrs. A. R.
Wells, IVIr and Mrs. Lloyd Ashton and
family, and Miss Helen Gibson Tor-
onto.' Others were present from Wing-
ham, Brussels, Wroxeter, Gorrie, and
Fordwich.
' On motion by T. A. Gibson, Ford-
wich, seconded by L. R. Ruttan, Gor-
rie, a vote of thanks was tendered Mr.
and Mrs. Higgins for their efforts in
making this first" re-union possible and
for the pleasant. afternoon which had
been enjoyed.

A quiet wedding took place in Gorrie
United Church on Saturday, August
23rd at,1 p.m. when Rev. G. G. Howse
united in marriage , Mrs. Lillian Beryl.
Avery, daughter of the late Robt. Ash-
ton, 1Mankton and Clifford Wilson
Hobbs of Monkton. The bride wore
pearl grey crepe with lace trim, blacic
hat and accessories. Her flowers were,
pink ,rosebuds and maiden hair fern.
The grooms gift to, the bride was a
set of travelling bags, They left on' a
wedding trip to Northern Ontario.
We are sorry to report the illness
of Mrs, George Brown, We hope
there may soon be an improvement.
