London with Mr. arid Mrs, Cameron
Simmons and Mr. and- Mrs. Kenneth

The Mission Band and Baby Band
of the United Church held a summer
meeting meeting at the home of Mrs. J. G. Gil-
lespie on Wednesday last, with a splen-
did attendance, Mrs. Victor Emerson
was in charge of the opening meeting,
and Mrs. Milian Moore led in prayer.
Mrs. G. E. Farrier was in' charge of a
short- business meeting for the W.A.
and then Mrs. Moore was in charge
of the program presented by the child-
ren Of the Mission Band. Mrs. Milian
Moore told the Story, and she and Mrs.
Groskorth led in the games and con-
test. Lunch was., served of sandwiches,
cookies and ice cream.
Miss Myrtle. Beecroft left on Wed-
nesday to accompany her aunt, Mrs.
Ed. St. John to Minneapolis, before
leaving for her position in New Lon-
don,7-..„Conn, Mr. George Robinson of
Wingham, visited on Sunday with his
aunt, Mrs. St. John, at the home of
Mr. J. D. Beecroft.
JUVENILES TAKE
TWO GAME LEAD
Friday evening in `IC ncardine the'
Wingham Juveniles edged the Kin-
cardine nine 7-6 in their second game
of the series for this groups W 0 A A
Championship: This was the second
win for the Red Sox, with the third
game to be played in the lakeshore
town Monday evening.
Trailing 6-4 at the end of the fourth
inning, the locals pressed hard in the
seventh and were rewarded with three
runs. The Kincardine boys tried des-
perately to even the count but Seli re-
lieving Ashton in the ninth was un-
beatable striking out the last two bt,t,-
ters,

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mowbray and
Roberta, and Miss 'Bertha MacKay of
London, returned this week-end after
spending last week on a trip that took
them from Tobermory ,through Mani-
toulin Island, and Little Current, to
the Soo, through the Straits of Mack-
inaw, and down into Michigan to rvisit
Mr. Mowbray's aunt, Mrs. Montgom-
ery of Rose City, and Mrs. Montgom-
ery returned with them to spend some
time here.
Rev. and Mrs. G. 0. Cox, Donna and
Ruth Ann, returned home to Coniston
last Thursday after spending their hol-
idays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Mac Ross and Mr. and Mrs. David
Cox of Palmerston.
Rev, and Mrs. Jas. Scobie of Wilton
Grove, spent the week-end at the home
of Mrs. Andrew Fox and visited with
old acquaintances in the village.
Mr, and Mrs. Thos. MacDonald Off
Guelph and Mrs. David MacDonald of
Teeswater visited on Friday with Mr.
and Mrs, Mac Ross and Mr. and Mrs.
Thos. Moore.
Miss Coleen Moore who has been
visiting with her grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. John Johnston, returned home to
Toronto on Monday.
Mrs. Thos. Morrison and Jimmie
left on Monday to'visit with, relatives
in Toronto. Little Marilyn Morrison
spent last week there.
Rev. MacKay of Bruce Beach had
charge of the services in the Presbyl
terian churches here on Sunday.

orial Hall this Friday evening.
Mrs. Hector Purdon and children
spent last week at the home of her
mother, Mrs. House of -ifeaford, and
returned home on Sunday with her
husband.
Mrs. Orville Newby, Dorothy and
Dennis of Londonl, •visited for a few
days last week with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Lott, and returned to
their home on Sunday with Mr. New-
