son of Winghana, spent Sunday at the •
home of her sister, Mrs, George Tiffin,
of Kinlosa.
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Henderson and
two children of Brantford, spent the
week-end at the home of his aunt, Mrs,
Wm. Dawson and with other Kinlosa
relatives. Their littleson Jimmie starts
school this September at Belleville.
Mr. and Mrs. Normann. Kirk and sons
Norman and Donald, spent a few days
last week with Ills mother, Mrs. Kirk,
at the home of Mr. and Mrs, 3. D, Bee-
croft.
Mr. Robt, Pardon is having his farm
buildings wired for hydro this week,
The hydro men got the wires on the
poles along the road last week, so these
East Wawanosh folks 'are hoping to
soon have the use of hydro,
Mr. Aldin Purdon has purchased a
new self-propelled combine and is
working this week at Elmwood.
Miss Joan Allen of Fordwich and
nurse-in-training at Guelph General
Hospital, spent the week-end with
Miss Mildred McClenaghan, R.N., who
is holidaying at her home here for this
month.
Rev, W. J. watt had charge of the
service at Belgrave United Church on
Sunday, and visited with Mr, Harry
McClenaghan and Miss Edith and Bill,
Church service will be withdrawn in
the United Church here for the next
two weeks and on September 7th., it
will commence at 2 p.m. Standard
Time.
-Miss Lily Staples of Brantford, has
been visiting at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Tiffin of Kinloss.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lott visited on
Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jack McIver of Ripley.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moore and
family moved recently from Preston to
part of the house on his father's farm
on the 12th of W, Wawanosh and has
secured work in Lucknow.
Thieves drove in a nearby lane and
stole over one hundred pullets belong-
ing to Mr. Robert Henderson who
started pp on his farm in Kinloss last
fall., This is a great loss.
Mr. and Mrs. Len Westbrook. of
Goderich visited on Wednesday last at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Cor-
nelius, and Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius
spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Em-
erson Irwin of Lucknow.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Morrison,, on the
Lucknow highway, moved this week to
their new home in Lucknow, and the
farm has been taken over by their son,
Mr. Mel. Morrison.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Thompson of
Delhi spent the week-end with E. and
West Wawanosh relatives.
A quiet weddinge, was solemnized in
the' United Chruch here last Tuesday,
August 12, at 2.30 p.m., when Rev. W.
J. Watt united in marriage, Evelyn
Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
Evans of Wingharn, and Mr. Gordon
Rapson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville
Rapson of Lonclesboro. Their many
friends extend best wishes. for a :long
and happy wedded life.

Miss Coleen Moore of Toronto, has
been .visiting at the home of her

quite ill during the week=end.
Mrs. McLean and her grandchildren
spent a few days last Week with her
daughter, :Mrs. Cross and her family,
of Walkerton, at their cottage at Bruce
Beach.

Many old friends of Rev. and Mrs.
J. Ure Stewart!of Oxford Centre will
be sorry to learn that he has been in
the Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital for
the past two weeks suffering from a
heart attack. His son, Dr. Kenneth
Stewart has been with him there and
he has been progressing favourably,
