In a juvenile Baseball semi-final at
Teeswater on Friday evening, "Vic"
Laughlean's Juveniles edged Teeswater
8-7, and qualified to meet Kincardine
for thiS groups WOAA champion-
ship. Ashton and Laughlean shared
mound duties, the latter relieving in
the ninth. Foxton led the locals with
four hits including a double.

JAMESTOWN
On Monday evening last a gathering
of friends and neighbors numbering
around three hundred met in the Jam-
estown Community Hall and. spent a
very pleasant evening, Wilbee's Or-
chestra was in attendance .and in their
usual good form supplied the music for
the dance assisted by some of the Jam-
estown friends. After lunch the fola
lowing address was read by Miss
Jeanne McLennan to Mr. and Mrs.
Clark Sharpin, (nee Ruth McKercher),
who were recently married.

Wednesday evening at Goderich, the
local Senior A team, outclassed the
Goderich nine, 8-2, and in the series
defeated the Lakesiders two straight.
Tommy Jardine on the mound for the
Hurons, was in great form fanning
eleven batters and allowing only two
hits. Devernchuck struck out six, apd
gave .up eight safeties. The Hurons
opened the scoring in the fourth with
three runs and were never threatened.

IN SEMI-FINALS
Playing' their 'last Round Robin
game of the series here Friday even-
ing, the Wingham Hurons laced the
Centralia RCAF 25-3. A large crowd
attended the ganie expecting to see a
real but were greatly disappoint-
ed as the visitors failed to show any
fight as indicatd by the score. The
locals combined for 27 hits off.Rhode
and Joudrey, and compiled a total of
seventy hits in their six game's of the
series. Seaforth and Wingham wil
now tangle for the group champion-
ship with the first game in Wingliam
Tuesday evening.
