The Orange Memorial Service which
was to have been held in the cemetery
on Sunday afternoon had to be can-
celled owing to the heavy rain.

Hastie returned with him for a two

Mr, and Mrs. Johnston Injured
The old saying trouble never comes
single handed" was 'experienced- this
past week at the home of Mr. and' Mrs.
Edward Johnston. On Friday after-
noon Mr, Johnston was assisting with
haying operations, on the farm of his
son,,Sparling, 1st concession Morris,
He was driving the horse on the hay
fork, when somehow, the horse became
tangled in the rope and-in the mix-up
both horse and driver went over the
side of the gangway, a doctor was
summoned and Mr. Johnston was ta.k-
en to the WiNham General Hospital.
X-ray examination showed two bones
above the ankle to be broken. The hi-
jured limb was placed iti a cast, The
other leg was cut and bruised and some
small cuts around the head and face.
He was able to return to his home on
Sunday afternoon.
Shortly after Mrs. Edward Johnston
had retuned from church services on
Sunday morning, she slipped on the
floor and fell, a doctor vitas called and
she was removed to the Wingham
Gene'a1 ospitaai, X-ray showed three
fractures between the shoulder and el-
,bow, on the left arm the shoulder was
also injured. The art was placed in a
cast and she was able to return to her
home the same day. 6

Storm Does Damage
The severe electric storm which
passed over this district early Sunday
morning did considerable damage. The
chimney_ at the home of A. D. Smith
was struck mid knocked to the ground.
The hydro electric lighting was put out
O of commission as well as the telephone;
some paper and plaster ,torn off and
some traces of.fire, 'fuses were blown
out and lighting interrupted at the
homes of W. J. ,Robertson, Leslie
Greenaway and Harry Elliott
