Miss Betty Fairservice, an employee
of the Bank of Commerce, tendered her
resignation on Saturday, after six
years service, four years as teller. The
patrons of the Bank always found het
an obliging official of the staff.
At a special meeting of the Council
on 'Monday night in respect to Water-
works for Blyth, the council decided
to publish the engineer's report before
any action is taken and by so doing,
the ratepayers would have a better idea
of what the project would likely cost.
The engineer's report gave an estimate
of $110,000 which does not include the
excavation.
Mr. Leslie Hilborn, who -leaves
shortly for Medicine Hat, Alta, had .a
very successful sale of household ef-

The Community Hall at Jamestown
was the scene of a happy gathering
on Monday evening, when over one
hundred relativds and friends had for
their honored guests, Mr. Clark Shar-
in and his bride, the former Miss. Ruth
McKercher, only daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Allan McKercher of Jamestown.
A. complimentary address was read by
Miss Jean McLennan and Miss Mary
Bradshaw presented a purse of money.
There were a number of other gifts
from^ personal friends., The groom
thanked those who had remembered
he and his bride so generously,
Lunch Was served by the ladies and
the remainder of the evening was spent
dancing to the music of Ken Willough-
by's Orchestra.
Mr. and Mrs. Sharpin have taken
up residence in Wroxeter.
W. S. Davidson accompanied by his
nephew, Burns Moffatt, motored to
Oshawa on Monday to visit Gay. Dav-
idson, who is ill at present.

It is no w ishing him the best or
peacefully away early Tuesday morn-
ing, July 22nd., in the person of Sarah
Victoria McAdam, wife of the late
Donald McDonald, in her 91st year,
Mrs. McDOnald had enjoyed fairly
good health until this year, but owing
to her years, her health began to fail.
She was a good neighbor with a
kindly disposition, a loving, and devot-
ed mother, and will be greatly missed
by those who mourn her passing,
those surviving are: Mrs. Alex John-
ston, (Annie); Mrs. Jas. Clark (Mary);
both of Grey township; Stanley of
Guelph, Alex and John at home, also
two step=daughters, Mrs. Margaret
McLeod and Mrs.. Jennie McLeod, of
Saskatchewan,
The remains were laid to rest in the
family plot in Brussels cemetory ‘ei
Thursday afternoon, with the Rev.
Martin officiating at the house and
grave.
The pallbearers were neighlays of
the deceased, Russell -Bradshaw, Gor-
don Ilolt, Murray Ross, Selait Brod,-
enridge, Lawrence Willis and Da‘i.l

Mrs. John Falconer returned home
on Monday after' spending two weeks
