Mrs. John Warren is a sister-in-law,
Mr, and Mrs. Addie Jacques and
children were the recipients of gifts-
last Tuesday evening from their old
neiglioburs and friends on the 2nd.
line. A dance was held in the school
house and a social evening .enjoyed.
Their farm has been purchased by Mr.
Fred Fiegel of Victoria SqUare near
Richmond Hill.
The May meeting' of the Women's
Institute will be held on Tuesday,
May 13th., at 2.30 p.m, D.S.T, at the
home of Mrs. Clarence Spading, Roll
Call will be payment of fees and ex-
change of slips of house plants. Mrs.
E. E. Wellington and Mrs. T. Brad,
nock will give Better Meals from
Short Course recently held at Wrox-
eter. A cordial invitation is extended
to the ladies of the community, Cars

Whole Grain Cereals, a review of the
Born-In Victoria Hospital, Lon-
don, on April 25th,, to Rey. George
and Mrs. Wylie,. Oakdale, a son.
Mr, and Mrs. Earl Underwood and
Jack, moved on Thursday to their new
home 'which is now nearing completion.
The death occurred on Friday in the
Bruce County Hospital, Walkerton,
of Miss Isabel Burnett, a resident for
many years of Lot 14, con. 16, Howick.
Funeral services were conducted at her
late home on Sunday by Rev. J. C.
Caley, Interment was 'in Clifford
cemetery. Deceased was in her 79th
year. Two brothers, Sam and Robert
of Howick, survive her.
Mrs. Bassil of Toronto and Mrs,
Lownsbury of 'Philadelphia, were re-
cent guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. C.
Taylor.
British Flood Relief
Donations of used clothing, bedding,
canned foods {tin), and money, for the
Gorrie district may be left at R. H.
Stephens and Co. Store, at C. J. Ed-
gars and donations of money at E. W.
Whitfields. The campaign closes May
15th. It is hoped that a wholehearted
response will be made by every citi-
zen of this community. School child-
ren are also asked to donate out
grown garments. The Women's In-
stitute will have charge of packing.

home here, after spending the winter
with her sons at Molesworth.

ored guests. A devotional period fol-
lowed, after which Bibles were pre-

lunch was in charge of Mrs. Glad Ed-
gar and while it was being' prepared
contests were conducted by Mrs. E.
Whitfield. The evening concluded
with the singing of the National An-
them.

The May meeting of the Woman's
Missionary Society was held at Mrs.
Hilt Ashton's home on Thursday,
when Mrs. J. Toner and Mrs. P. Ash-
ton had charge of the program, with
the theme, "One World on our Door-
step."
After singing hymn, "Thy•Xingdoni
Cane, 0 Lord", Mrs, Toner told of
the many foreign students who have
come to Canada to the schools here
and who will be Christian leaders in
the future. Thirty students from Ind.
is attend the University of Toronto,
eight the 'Ontario Agricultural College,
others at Other colleges, Some of the
students impersonated by Mrs. Step-
hens, Mrs, Whitfield, Mrs. Howse,
Mrs. Michel, Mrs, Maine and Mrs,
Strong told Of why they had come to
Canada to attend schools and of their
elementary training, Hymn, "City of
God, how broad and fat" was followed
by instructive reports of the Hilton
Presbyterial presented by Mrs, Howse
and Mrs. Ruttatt, Mrs'., Rattan presid-
ed for business session. The roll call
was responded to with a Thought on
"Mother". Hymn "Front all that dwell
