In 1932 he married Clara Beatrice Agar who survives: He was a member of Wingham Un- ited Church and for many years an elder. Surviving besides his wife and mother, are four daughters and two sons; also five sisters, Mrs. Louns- bury (Anna), and Mrs. Joseph Eckley (Susan), of Philadelphia, Mrs. Donald Ross (Mary), and • Mrs, John Ross (Mabel), of Clifton, Kansas and; Mrs. Peter Bassell (Irene); of Toronto, Two sons predeceased him. Private funeral service will be held (today), Wednesday, May 7th., at 2.30 p.m. at his home with Rev. W. A. Beecroft officiating assisted by Rev. A. Nimmo and Rev. Mr. Hewitt. Gillespie, Many will be pleased to learn that Miss Maxine has been attending Stratford Normal School this year and has alreadysecur- ed a school for the fall teaching, Don't forget the Box Social OBITUARY Mrs. Cameron Adams At Wellsley Hosptal, Toronto, on Tuesday, April 29th., 1947, following an illness of several months, there en- tered into rest, a well-known and high- ly esteemed citizen in the person of Mrs. Cameron Adams, Jean A. Grant Adams, in her 37th year, the only daughter of Mrs, Mar- garet Grant and the late Mr, Grant, was born on the 14th concession of Grey, on leaving public school she at- tended Brussels High School, McMas- ter University, Hamilton and the Fa- culty of Education, Toronto, and she taught school at Leamington and at Douglas's School in this district. She was a member of the Bluevale Presbyterian Church and took an act- ive part in its organizations, Any worthwhile activity in the community was given her wholehearted support. In the home a loving wife and mother, as a kind neighbour and friend, she made life richer for all whose privilege it was to know her and her passing is deeply regretted. Surviving are her 'husband, three children, William, Jean and Malcolm, her mother, Mrs, Margaret Grant, who resided with her, and an aunt, Miss Margaret Grant of Brussels. Funeral services were held on Thurs- day, May 1st., from her late residence, 1st. line of Turnberry. Rev. Leland Jorgensen, of Bluevale Presbyterian Church in charge. Pallbearers were: Duncan MacDougall, Ewart McKer- cher, Stanley Moffat, Wm. Grant, Wm. Perrie, John Perrie, and the flower bearers, Mary Bradshaw, Margaret Sanderson, Eleanor Edgar, Ester Ad- ams, Wilma Jean Edgar and Grace Ed- gar. Interment was made the family plot, Brussels Cemetery, William John Scott William John Scott passed away at his home, Con. 2, Morris, on Sunday, May 4th., in his 62nd, year. He had been in poor health for two years and seriously ill for the past two weeks. Born on the farm' on which he lived all his life, he was the son of Mrs. 'rhos. The Young People's Group. of the United Church net on Monday even- ing in the S. 5, room, with the Presi- dent, Mrs. Clarence McClenaghan in charge of the opening exercises and business meeting. Mr. J. D, Beecroft played a piano solo. Rev, G. M. New- ton was then in charge of the pro- gram, and the Book of Philemon was was read by all. Mr. Newton then read the story of the runaway slave, in the Scripture lesson, and Clarence Mc- Clenaghan read the story from Mof- fat's translation of the Bible, After a short talk, Mr, Newton closed the meeting with prayer,•and then showed slides on Canada's Kid Sister, and one on "Are You Safe in Your Own Home" showing how easily many ac- cidents happen through careless at home, and showing how precaution should be taken in many similar ways. Lunch of sandwiches, cookies, and maple syrup, and the social half hour was enjoyed by all, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Johnston and their daughter, Mrs. John 'Ryan and her son, Leroy, visited on Saturday at the home of the former's nephew, Mr, Lorne Johnston, and Mrs. Fred Plaetzer of Auburn and her daughter, Mrs, Chas, Million of Colborne also visited there. Miss Mildred McClenaghan, R. N., who has been on the Wingham General Hospital Staff, is spending a month with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George McClenaghan. Mr, Irwin McClenaghan and Miss Lila F,ornie of Bright, spent the week- end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben McClenaghan. Mr. Melville Beecroft of Otterville, spent the week-end with his father, Mr, John Beecroft. Mrs. Frank Thompson and Mrs, Leslie Wightman were in Goderich on Monday attending the Music Festival, and Miss Eleanor Wightman was one of five chosen from the fourteen year and under group of 52 girls, to sing at the evening program. Eleanor was placed third in the class, and little Miss Gwen Walsh of Belgrave, in the seven year and under class, was placed third out of a class of 61 girls, We coo- gratulate these girls on their splendid singing. Miss Helen Thompson, Public Health Nurse at St. Thomas, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson. LOCAL AND PERSONAL Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Carmichael spent the week-end in London.
