been allowed to attend Government
schools for the past 20 years and at
the present time one third of the stud-
ents are women and they are in all pro-
fessions including dentistry, medicine,
arts, etc. The Chinese church is not
yet strong enough to meet opportunit-
ies of today and still need help in all
lines including music and household
science. Still 75% of Chinese people
are illiterate and the United Church is
responsible for the ten million, people
of West China. We all can pray, give
of time and material possessions.
Mrs. N. Hockey and Miss Mabel
Follick sang a lovely duet, "When I
tell 'my troubles to Jesus."
The offertory prayer was given by,
Mrs. H. Kirkby of Walton. Rev. Har-
old Snell of Auburn brought greetings
from Presbytery. Mrs. H. V. Work-
man of Seaforth brought hi the re-
port of the Resolutions Committee.
Miss A. Harison installed the new of-
ficiers and Rev. N. J. Wood gave the
closing prayer. Delegates to the
Branch meeting to be held in Aylmer

morning and afternoon sessions.
"Building for the Kingdom of God"
was the theme of the worship services
conducted in the morning by Mrs. R.
Batten, .Exeter, and Mrs. F, Hern,
Clinton, and in the afternoon by Mrs.
H. Wilson, Brussels ,and Mrs. W. Mc-
Vittie, Westfield, Mrs, George Lay-
to of Exeter, gave a hearty welcome to
all and mentioned that understanding
love is necessary to have World
Friendship, Mrs. E, Desjardine of
Grand Bend replied,
The roll call of organizations show-
that there are 58 afternoon auxiliaries
2 affiliated societies„ 7 'evening auxil-
iaries, 6 mission circles, 43 mission
Bands, 34 Baby Bands and 12 CGIT
groups, One,Mission Circle, 1 Even-
ing Auiliary and 2 CGIT groups are

Standard of Recognition; Holmesville,

Westfield, Ontario St. Clinton, Slim-
