Laidlaw, Mrs. Laidlaw has been ill
during the past week.
'Mr. and Mrs. Kowley of , Toronto,
were visiting here last week at the
home of Mr, and Mrs. Thos, Morrison

mie accompanied them home on Friday
and visited with relatives there.
Miss Martha Casemore, who has
been with her sister, Mrs. John John-
ston spent the week-end at her home
in Wingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Carman Farrier and
Miss Winnifred Farrier left on Sunday
for thei position in New Toronto and
Toronto, and Mr. Lorne Johnston ac-
son, Douglas, returned to their home
in Kincardine on Saturday, after spend-
ing last week with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. W. R. Farrier.
Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Groskorth and
children, spent the week-end with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs, Bagg of Union-
ville, and Mrs. Murray accompanied
tlie and visited with friends in Tor-
onto.
Mr. W. J. Hallahati has been bizsy
over the week-end plowing out the E.
Wawanosh roads with the County
caterpillar plow, but he was unable to
plow through the deep snow 'around
the river banks at Charlie Leaver's to
open up the Wingham Mail Route No.
8. The heavy floods of the Maitland
River, dttring the week-end caused bad
cut-outs in the embankments at the
10th bridge.
Mrs. Bill Parker and children, and
Miss Faye McClenaghan of London,
spent a few days last week with their
parent84 Mr, and Mrs, Ben McClen-
aghail.
Mr. and Ilirs, Robert Purdon and
Archie, and her mother, Mrs, A. And-
erson, and. Mr. and Mrs, Jas. Curran
and children of St. Helens, visited on
Sunday at the borne of Mr, and Mrs.
Gordon Rintoul, and Mrs. Anderson
stayed to spend a week with her grand-
daughter.
The regular 'monthly meeting of the
Women's Institute was held in the
Memorial Hall here en Tuesday last,
with the president, Mrs, Cecil Falcon-
er in charge of the program, The roll-
call was answered by the ladies con-
tributing a spoon towards the kitchen
equipment, nine were donated. Mrs,
Seholtz played a piano solo and Mrs:
Lorne Johnston had charge of the
motto. Mrs. W. R, Farrier gave a
piano solo, and ,Miss 'Olive Teriff gave
two humorous readings and .Mrs.
B. Fattier sang a solo. The tallies ap.

enjoyed by all,
Mrs. Robert Scott, (nee Jean John-
ston) and son, returned from Wing-
ham Hospital to their home in East
Wawanosh on Friday,
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Moore, who
have spent the winter in London, are
living on the farm on the 2nd. of Kin-
loss now.
Kinloss roads were plowed out this
Monday.

• A very pleasant event took place in
the Forrester's Hall last Friday em-
it*, when neighbors and friends of Mr,
and Mrs, jack Taylor and Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Taylor, gathered and pres-
ented them with a iniscellaneous -sbow-
er.
Mr. Harvey Black called both young
couples to the platforni and after a few
humorous remarks asked them on be-
half of those present to accept the gifts,
Both young Been replied thanking ev-
eryone for their good wishes. McDow-
