Hawken - Kerr
At the manse of First St. Andrew's
Church, London, Monday at noon, a
pretty double-ring ceremony was sol-
emnized by Dr. J. Y. MacKinnon,
when Luella Catharine Kerr, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. George Kerr, Wing-
ham, became the bride of William
George Hawken„ son of Mr. and Mrs.
W. C. Hawken, Egerton St., London.
'The bride wore a dressmaker suit
in champagne gabardine with a brown
straw hat, trimmed in champagne, and
brown accessories. Her corsage was
of Talisman roses. Mrs. Alan Garniss,
of London, was her only attendant,
wearing a turquoise. dressmaker suit
with a black hat and accessories and a
corsage of Butterfly roses.
Jack Hawken, brother of the groom,
was best man.
Immediately following the ceremony
the couple left on a wedding trip to
Buffalo. The !bride wore with her
wedding suit, a topcoat in brown and
champagne check. Mr. and Mrs.
William George Hawken will live in
Bisaitiord on their return.
French - Henderson
The marriage of Iona Jean, daugh-
ter of Mr, and Mrs. W. John Hender-
son, Wingham, to Mr. Donald French,
son of Mr. and Mrs. A. French, Wince
ham, took place on Friday, April 4th,
at 3 o'clock, at the Presbyterian Manse
with Rev. A. Nimmo officiating.
Given in marriage by her father, 'the
bride wore a floor-length gown of
white sheer over rayon, with white
feather coronet and shoulder-length
veil. Her flowers were American
Beauty roses.
Following the ceremony dinner was
served at the Hotel Brunswick to the
immediate relatives. In the evening
a reception was held at the home of
Mr, and Mrs. A. French.
For travelling, the bride chose a
dress' of black printed morning glories
on pink rayon sheer, with pink feather
hat and coat of white sand all wool
fleece cloth. Her shoes and purse
were black plastic," After a trip to
Windsor, Detroit. and Pontiac, Mr. and
Mrs: French will reside in Wingham.
BELMORE
The Lord's Supper was observed in
the United Church on Sabbath morn-
ing, Preparatory service Friday. Bap-
tism service in a week or so.
Colored Films were shown in the
Presbyterian Church on Monday night,
in aid of the Bible Society the "God
of Creation, they were certainly
worth the small admission.
We are all delighted to have Mrs.
Wm. Abram with us again.
Those visiting friends, Mrs. Elmer
Zinn spent Monday afternoon with
Mrs, Fred Johann, the Darling family
on the boundary, Mt%%and Mrs, Harry
Edwards, now of Loudon, Mr. and Mrs.
