V. McKenney, who presided, and opened the meeting with the Lord's Prayer in unison. During the business period, reports were presented for 1946. The Rector, Rev, James Coley, spoke briefly, telling 'of the Lenten Prayer Services being planned for the congregation and friends. Membership fees were paid in response to the roll call, followed by a prayer of thanks and' rededication of each mem- ber with grateful and humble hearts for strength and guidance in the new year. Meeting closed with the hymn, "All people that on earth do dwell" and dismissal prayer 'by Rev, 'J. Coley. A very successful sale of live stock, grain and hay, and machinery is reported, Suffered Fatal Heart Attack Friends and relatives were shocked to hear of the passing of a former Howick resident, in the person of the late Thomas Hubbard. Mr. Hubbard who was in his 66th year, had for the past ,few years, lived in Hanover, On. The Wi:oxeter Community Associa- tion are preparing a contest concert for 'the near future, women vs. men, each to present one hour's program. Great interest is being shown and the event should bring a good attendance. To develop home talent is one. of the aims of this group. Rev, J. L. Foster presided over the installation of the new officers for 1947 whihc are as follows; President, Mar- ilyn Maclean; Vice-Pres., Billy Hart; Sec'y, Donna Copeland; Treasurer, Don. Gibson; Pianist, Evelyn Anger; Assistant, Shirley McMichael; Attend- ance Committee; Shirley McMichael, Jimmie Wylie, Jack Gibson, All join- ed in singing the hymn "When He Cometh". The collection was received by Don. Gibson. Evelyn Anger fav- ored with •a piano solo, "Star of the East". Billy Hart lead in prayer, A game was enjoyed. The first chapter of the new Study Book, "Shera of the Punjow" was presented in an inter- estingway by Mrs. J. H. Wylie. "Tell Me The Story of Jesus" was the closing hymn. The benediction, pro- nounced by Rev. J. L. Foster brought an interesting meeting to a close. Dr. Frederick H. Shprck Friends in Wroxeter and community learned with deep regret, of the sud- den passing of a former resident, Dr. F. H. Scheele of Hensall, following a short illness. For a number of years Dr. Scherck practiced medicine in To- ronto, coming to Wroxeter to 'take over the practice of Dr. Irwin Campbell, following the latter's enlistment, In September, 1945, he moved to Hen- son where lie carriedon successfully until the 'time of his death. During the years spent in Wroxeter the Doc- tor made a large circle of friends. He was a fine citizen as well as a skillful physician: He was a member of the Anglican Church and while here, a regular attendant at St. James'. He was a member of St. Ardan's Lodge No. 567, A.F. & A.M., Toronto, Dr. Scherck is survived by his wife, the, former Olive Katheleen McCool, of Hensall, formerly of Toronto, to whom sincere sympathy is extended in her bereavement. Funeral services were held from the chapel of Wm. Sherwin's Funeral Home, Toronto, on Friday at 3 p.m, Interment was made in St. Johns Ce- metery, Norway. WESTFIELD (Intended, for last week) The regular monthly meeting of the W.M.S. was held on WednesdAy after- noon, in the church school room.
