The 6th line Farm Forum of East
Wawanosh, met at the home of Cyrus
Scott and was conducted by the secre-
tary, Bruce Scott,
The first question, "would you take
a job in the city at $32,50 a, week",
This is the average city pay, All except
one said no, that they had been their
4,,,n boss too long, and wouldn't be
able to save any money, at that wage.
Second question, "Why . are Farm
Women Dissatisfied" 'because of lack
of conveniences, and the farm income
is too uncertain. The solution, raise
the farm income and send them to the
city for a two week's vacation each
year,
A resolution was passed asking the
County Council . to purchase the Port
Albert Airport if the price was reason-
able, and maintain it as a model farm
and use it as a County Fair.
The recreation was in charge of Le-
wis Cook. The next meeting will be
held .at the home of Albert Coultes,'
with Lewis Cook, Convener.

HURON-BRUCE FORUM
Huron-Bruce Farm Forum started
their Fall meetings at the home of Mt.
Frank McCormick with a good attend-
ance of 32. The discussion was on a
interesting subject fur the farmer and
was much enjoyed. The topic was,
Are Farm. Living Standards High?
The first question asked was, "Would
we like to go to the city and 'work for
$32.20 a week, as this was the average
wage for a non-agricultural worker?
The large Majority said they would
rather remain where they are, so city
and town friends, the farmers aren't
bad people after all for they think your
wages aren't too high.
Our second question was, "Why are
some women dissatisfied on the farm,"
.They all felt this was due to lack of
conveniences and too much hard work.
We were very pleased to have with
us Mr. George Gear, our Agricultural
RepresentatiVe„ who told us the need
of farm organizations, we may not feel
the need of them at the present time
but later' on. when tines might not' lie
so good, and. also answered many
questions on our problems. Thanks
to Mr. Gear as he has clone great work
among the farmers.
The remainder of the evening was
spent in progressive euchre, two high
prizes_ going to Mrs. Ross King and
Mrs. Alex Campbell,. High for men
going to Ross King and Bob McKag-
Our •'next meeting will be held at
Mrs. Lorne McAllister's with our new
Secretary, Peter McKague in charge.
