The McIntosh ladies held a most successful Bazaar, Wednesday after- noon • in the school room of their church, Everything went off with a bang, especially the homemade soap. With the beautiful rain Thursday and home made soap hubby 'will get his shirt washed. As the lunch hour is always a pleasant affair, much more so when you get a generous helping. Our Macintosh ladies excel along this line. Their tea was lovely. Friday evening, old and young gath- ered in the school room to do honor to Mr, aand Mrs. Ross McKague, they presented them with a sum of money. The commis- • sion made an offer to purchase the land, but in session the congregation decided it did not wish to sell the pro- perty, which is due north of the' church. Born 78 years ago, in Morris Township; Mr, Kerney left the family homestead in his early. twenties to serve his apprenticeship as a barber in St. Marys. While operating his own business in St. Marys he met and mar- ried Miss Elspeth Smith, daughter of the, late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith, The marriage took place in First Pres- byterian Church, St. Marys, and the officiating minister was the late Rev.. T, A, Cosgrave. Mr, and Mrs. Kerney then Moved to Wingtiatn where Mr. Kerney con- ducted a barber's business for nine years, 'Mr. Kerney then' exchanged the scissors for the plough and farmed for a-number of years in Morris town- ship. They retired to Brussels 13 years ago, 4.
