Mrs. William Haugh
There passed away at the home of
her daughter,,Mrs. Harold Gilkinson,
on Monday, :August 19th., after a
short illness, Mrs. William Haugh, in
her 76th year?„, .
Born in Turnberry, the former ,Cath-
arine Gilmour, was married over fifty
years ago to William Haugh, who pre-
deceased her twenty-three years ago.
She was a member of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church, Wingham, and a
former member df Eadies Presbyterian
Church. She is survived by two sons,
Fraser of Howick, and West on the
homestead, and one daughter, Mrs,
Harold (Rena) Gilkinson. One sister,
Mrs. Win. Mundell of Wingham, and
two brothers, 'Thomas and Hugh and
seven grandchildren also survive.
The funeral Was held from her late
residence, Lot 13, Con. 9, Turnberry,
on Wednesday, August 21st,, at 2.30
p.m., with Rev. John Hutton of Pine
River officiating, assisted by Rev. J. R.
Gregg of Collingwood.
Interment was made in Wingham
Cemetery. Pallbearers were five nep-
hews, Ivan and David Haugh, William
Gordon and Hugh Mundell and James
Campbell.

and Patricia 10, Her father and
mother, and two sisters, Miss Alberta
McLean, Reg. N., Halifax, and Marg-
aret of the Canadian Bank of Commer-
ce staff, Goderich, also survive.
The body rested at the home of her
parents on Friday evening and then at
the home of her father-in-law, Mr. Geo.
Samis, Brussels, where a private ser-
vice was held on Sunday followed by
a service ° in Melville Presbyterian
Church with Rev. Milne in charge.
Interment -was made in the Wingham,
cemetery. The many and beautiful
floral tributes Showed the high es-
teem in Which the late Mrs. Samis was
held.
The pallbearers were Wilfred Willis,
W. C. Bennett, L, Michael, D. David-
son, Alvin Logan and R. J. McLaugh-
lin.

OBITUARY
Mrs, John. Galbraith
The death occurred in Wingham
General Hospital, on Saturday, August
17th., of Mrs. John Galbraith, follow-
ing an illness of four months.
A native of Springfield, Ontario,
Mrs, Galbraith was the former Lillie
I. johns.' She was in her 80th year,
and the last surviving member of her
family. Sixty years ago moved to
Wingham, and on June 10th., 1891,
was married to John Galbraith, who
survives, along with two sons, W. A.
Galbraith, Wingham, j, Frank, Toron-
to, and Mrs. H. J. (Alba) Rahlves,
Toronto, also three grandchildren,
Elizabeth and Jack of Toronto, and
Bill of, Wingham,
She was a 'member of the United
Church. The funeral service conduct-
ed by Rev. W. A. Beecroft was held
on Monday, August 19th, with inter.,
ment in Wingham cemetery, The
pallbearers were, John W. Hanna, G.
W. Buchanan, R. H. Lloyd, Robt,
White, J: H, Crawford and R, A.

Mrs. A. McDougall
Mrs. Mary McDougall, wife of 'Alex
McDougall, died at the residence of
her son-in-law, Kenneth Everingham,
142 Brock St., Sarnia, on Tuesday,
August 13th., in her 60th year. She
was born in Wingham and had resided
in Sarnia for twenty-eight years. ' Sur-
viving besides her husband are three
daughters, Mrs, Lorne Lucas of Wy-
oming, Mrs. Willard Hughes of Sarnia
Township and Mrs. Kenneth Ever-
ingham of Sarnia, Funeral services
was held from the D. j, Robb ,funeral
home on Friday afternoon, at 1.45
o'clock, Interment took place at' Lake-
view cemet
Mrs. Finlay M. Samis
Following an illness of four years,
the last five weeks of which were ser-
ious, there passed away in Royal Victor-
ia Hospital, Montreal, Janet Sara Mc-
Lean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred
McLean Wingham, in her 36th year.
Born and educated in Wingham she
spent the earlier part of her life here,
and thirteen years ago was married to
Finlay M. Samis, of Brussels, and had
lived in Brussels since that time. She
was an• active member of the choir,
the Ladies Aid and the W.M.S. of
Melville Presbyterian Church. She is
survived by her husband and three

In a sudden death game played here
Friday evening, Clinton ousted Goder-
ich from further play in Group 3, by
the one-sided score of 1,6-1. For five
innings of play with the score tied 1-1,
both clubs played heads up ball only
to have Clinton turn on the heat in
the sixth, with a barrage of four runs,
led by Ilawkins an experienced veter-
an at the game. Taras for Goderich
weakened under the strain, of having
to pitch the third game in a row, and
combined-with poor support from his
team mates went down to defeat,

three innings, and were credited with
only one error., White highlighted

giving the glove men four wins and
two losses for the season, Gurneys
led 7-1 up until the sixth when the
Old Timers endeavoured to get close,

their objective, McLeod on the mound
for Gurneys received good support
from his teammates. Four teams will

Suffering their worst defeat of the
season here on Wednesday evening,
Fry & Blackball, trounced the White-
church nine, 32-3 in a town league
softball game. Whitechurch failed in
this game, to show any signs of battle
as indicated by the one sided score
and failed to catch a play-off berth.

three innings, collecting eighteen runs,
Circuit clouts appeared quite in order,
Templeman performing the hat trick
with three, while Seli, Foster, Chittick
and Lee garnered one apiece.
