cottage, to thirty-five relatives and
friends who are summering at Presque
Isle Pt., near Brighton. '

Newlyweds Honoured
On Wednesday night of last week a
dance and miscellaneous shower was
held in the town -hall here in honour
of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Underwood,
who were recently married. The young
couple were the recipients of many
useful and lovely gifts. Music for the
dance was supplied by Brown's Or-
chestra.

taking holidays this week, on a motor
trip to the Niagara peninsula and
other points.

spent Sunday with friends in Millbanlc,
Mr. and Mrs. R. W. N. Wade also

who have been holidaying here, spent

the L.O.L. Memorial Service in Gode-
rich on Sunday afternoon.
Home Gardens Judged
Miss Flora Durnin of Lucknow, and
Mr. Nelson of Clinton, assistant Ag-
ricultural. representative of Huron
County were in the district on Monday
of last week judging the gardens of
those who belong to the Home Garden
Club sponsored, by the Women's In-
stitute, Miss Gwen Ruttan won first
place among those competing for the
first year. Miss Erland. Gregg won
first place among those competing for
the second year and Mrs. Everett
Sparling and Mrs. Mel Taylor tied
hi the third place.
Mr. Malcolm Armstrong of Port
Arthur and 'Mrs. A, D. Armstrong of
Seaforth visited Dr. and Mrs. Arm-
strong on Monday.

We have again to record the' death
of another esteemed resident of our
community in the personn of Mr. Wil-
liam H. Gregg, who passed away in
the early hours of Monday iriorning.
Pitneral service will be held in the
'United 'Church on Wednesday after-
noon. The sympathy of the commun-
ity is extended to Mrs. Gregg and the
family.
The service in the United Church
next Sunday•morning will be taken by
Mr. H, Hopper of Winghain, as Rev.
G. G. Howse will be on his holidays.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Short and
family of Fergus, are' spending a
week's holiday with relatives here.
We regret to learn of the Serious
ness of Mrs, Robt, Catiters. We hope
