Women's Association
The Women's Association. United
Church met in the church parlours on
the afternoon of Tuesday, May 20th.,
the president, Mrs. Hart presided over
the Devotional exercises and the roil
call was answered by a verse contain-
ing the word, Peace. Mrs. C. McCut-
cheon and Mrs. Copeland were in
charge. The afternoon was spent in
quilting and the usual Pot Luck Sup-
per served at the close.
National Clothing Drive
Mrs. H. V. McKcnney is chairman
for Wroxeter and District for the Nat-
ional Clothing Drive from June 17th
to 29th, Mr. R. J. Rann has kindly
loaned his store where donations may
be left. New and used clothing for
men, women and children is urgently
needed,. It is hoped the citizensof this
community will respond generously.
Fats Shipment June 5th
Citizens of Wroxeter and commun-
ity are reminded that the Fats Salvage
project is still being sponsored by the
'Women's Institute. The committee in
charge are anxious to make a ship-
ment before hot weather sets in. Don-
ations may be left at the Red Cross
Rooms up to June 5th., when ship-
ment will be made.
St. James' Service
Service in St. James Anglican
church will be changed, commencing
on June 1st, service will be conducted
at 8 p.m., Daylight Saving Time, Rev.
James Caley is rector and everyone
will be cordially welcomed to the even-
ing service.
Members of St. James Guild have
invited the Young People's Society of
Delmore -Presbyterian Church to pres-
ent their 3 act farce comedy on Fri-
day night: May 31st,, in the Town
Hall. This will be the third perform-

Mrs, Thos. Brown.
Mr. and Mrs. Tyndall Ritchie of
Wingham, were recent guests of Mr..
Thos. Ritchie and Mrs. F. Sanderson.
Several residents of this district call-
ed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John
Montgomery, Gorrie, on Saturday ev-
ening when this worthy couple who
are lifelong residents of Howick Town-
ship held open house in honour of
their 50th wedding anniversary. Their
two sons, Telford of Kitchener and
John of Milton, with their- families
were present, as was also the brides-
maid and groomsman of 50 years ago,
both reside in Gorrie. Wroxeter and
community join with !Gorrie friends in
extending to Mr. and Mrs. Montgom--
ery best wishes for many more happy
years together.
Miss Maud Higgins who has spent
the winter months with Mrs. A. Stutt
left for her home in Gorrie this week.

The Young People's Society United
Church held a special meeting on Mon-
day evening to plan their summer
month's activities.
Rev, John and Mrs. Greig of gol-
lingwood, formerly of Bluevale, visited
with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon dreig on
Wednesday of last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kress, (nee
Eleanor Douglas) were Sunday guests
of Mr, and Mrs. James Douglas.

.during the past week were, Mr. and
Mrs. Vern Pacey, Mr. and Mrs. Geo.
Rayburn all of Shelburne, Miss Mil-
dred Feaver of Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Les. Douglas also
Mrs. Alex Wright were in Molesworth
on Tuesday and Wednesday attend-
ing the funeral services for the late
McIntosh Brothers both of whom died
on the same day.
Miss Anna Grieg It N., of Park-
wood Hospital Staff, London, was a
week-end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Gor-
don Greig.
Mr: and Mrs. Win. Montgomery at-
tended a family dinner at the home of
the former's brother, Mr. and Mrs,
John Montgomery, Gorrie, Saturday,
on the occasion of their 50th wedding
anniversary,

two daughters of Toronto, were week*
end guests of 'Mrs. M. Sellers. Mr.
Iletherington returned on Sunday but
his wife and daughters remained for
a longer visit,

former resident of Wroxeter, who has
been in poor health for sonic weeks is
now a patient in Oshawa General
