in, who recently returned home from
Victoria Hospital, London, has con,
tracted measles. Her many friends
hope she will soon be well again,.
Mr. and Mrs, W. R. Rae and family
of Hanover, were Sunday visitors with
the former's mother, Mrs, D. W. Rae,
Mrs. Charles Carter, Wingharn, is a
visitor at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Wm. Mundell and Mr. Mundell,
2nd. line.
Mr. Gordon Greig- who recently re-
turned from' overseas has purchased
the farm of the late Mr, Joseph Breck_
enridge, near Blueeale.
Mr. Jeff Musgrove returned to his
home from Listowel Memorial Hos-
pital on Saturday. Mr. Musgrove suf-
fered a severe heart attack but is now
resting comfortably. His many friends
hope he will soon be restored to good
health.' Corp. Gladys Musgrove of
Trenton, was called to her father's
bedside, and 'is spending, a week at her
home.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Douglas, Mr. and
Mrs. Les. Douglas and daughter, Ann
were in Listowel Sunday to' welcome
the former's nephew, Pte. W. T. Bres-
hin recently returned from overseas,
two brothers, Corp. John S. Breshin,
and Corp. Jim D. Breshin returned
some time ago. The three returned
men are'sons of Mrs. P. Breshin,
Mr, and Mrs, Wm. Maxwell, 6th
line, Turnberry, have taken up resi-
dence in. their home formerly owned
by the late Mrs. Charles Sproule. We
welcome Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell to the
village.

Red Cross Enchre
The Finance .Committee of the Local
Red Cross held a progressive Euchre,
on Wednesday evening last in the Red
Cross Rooms. Mrs. H. V. McKenney
held highest score for ladies, Mr. M.
Grainger won the gentleman's prize,
and Mrs. Hyde won the lucky chair
prize. Refreshments were served by
the committee.
Leaders Presented
'The Final Meeting of the Wroxeter
Red Cross Workers was held on Wed-
nesday afternoon last week with a re-
cord attendance. This group have made
-t' fine record in filling needed quotas
since their organization. At the close
of the meeting, Mrs. Frank Sanderson
read an address expressing the deep
appreciation of the members to their
eaders. Mrs. Denny, president; Mrs.
Douglas, Convener of Quilt Commit-
tee and Mrs. Burke, Convener of Knit-
ting, each were presented with a suit-
able gift, Afternoon tea was served
and a social hour enjoyed.
St. James Guild
The April meeting of St. James
Guild will be held on the afternoon of
April 9th., at 2,30 p.m. at the home of
Mrs. James Wray. Members are ask-
ea to return completed blocks for the
Tulip quiit.and donationS for Autumn
Bazaar.
Quarterly Communion

Women's Missionary Society
The April meeting of the Women's
Missionary Society, United Church,
will be held in the church on Friday,
April 12th., 3 p.m. Mrs. Harvey
Timm and Mrs. D. S. IMcNaughton
are in 'charge of the meeting. Mrs,
G. Howse will give an address on the
subject, "The Risen Christ". The Roll
Call to be answered by a Bible Verse,
containing the word Cross. The theme
of the meeting, "Resurrection."
WROXETER Mr. and Mrs. H. V. McKenney were
in Owen Sound,. Thursday 'evening at-
tending the Lions Charter Night din-
ner.
Mr, and Mrs. Phil Durst moved on
Monday to the home recently occup-
ied by Mrs. H. Wailer, now of Tor-
onto.
Billy St. Marys of Cliffdrd, is a vis-
itor at the home Mr. and Mrs. And-
rew Adams. •
Mrs. J. Lovell, who spent the winter
season with friends at Ridgetown and
Blenheim, returned home last week,
accompanying her were Mrs. S. Fraser
and Mr. Doug. Fraser, who spent the
week-end with friends here.
Miss B. Wade of Fordwich, visited
with her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Harold
Hamilton on Friday.

presented their play in Belgrave on
Friday night.,
Mr. and Mrs?( Leslie Bolt and family
Mrs. J. j. Allen, Jimmy and Mar-
jorie, Toronto, were week-end guests
with 'Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Allen.
Little Garry: Durst had his tonsils
removed on Thursday last and we are
-pleased to know is making a good re-
covery.

over he week-end.
Miss Minnie Jeffray visited Thurs-
day with the Mundell family Wing-
ham, and called on Mrs. Mulvey at
the hospital, who seemed quite bright
and cheerful, with the anticipation of
coming hoine.
Mr. and Mrs. Herb Miller were
down with flu the past week. It may
be' possible the bug came up from the
Lazy Meadows.
Mr. and Mrs. Hewitt attended the
Presbytery meeting at Paisley on
Tuesday afternoon.

The "Missionary meeting was held
on Wednesday afternoon at the home
of Mrs. Wm. Edwards, with 'eight in
attendance. Mrs. Thomas Abraham as
leader, opened the meeting with sing-
ing and prayer. Scripture reading by
different members. Minutes were read
by Mrs. Roy Rutherford, also reading
from the Monthly. "Roll Call", verse
on Sacrifice. Study Book, .Miss ,M,
Jeffray; hymn. Prayer in conclusion by
Mrs. Rev. Hewitt.
The Induction of the Rev. Leland
Jorgensen in to the pastoral charges
of Bleuvale and Belmore Presbyterian
churches is to take place in the Blue-
vale Church, April 5th., at 8 o'clock.
The Young People of the Presbyter-
ian church are practicing a Play, "Mr.
Him and I".
Brooks Stewart has taken a position
with Mr. Elmer Zinn for the summer.
Those out of the village the past
week, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Edwards in
Toronto to visit Mr, George Edwards
in the Hospital there.
