McInnes Morton
A pretty wedding was solemnized
on. Monday evening, Feb, 19th at Don-
lands Anglican Church, by the Rev.
Cannon Bracken, when Myrtle Evelyn,
eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex,
T. Morton, of Toronto, was given in
marriage to James" Elgin, only son of•
Mr. and Mrs, T. L. McInnes of Gor-
rie,
The bride was given in marriage by
her father, looked charming in a floor
length gown of white satin, with shoul-
der length veil, with a bandana of or-
ange blossoms and carrying a bouquet
of American Beauty roses. Miss Ger-
trude Mortrin, sister of the bride, act-
ed as bridesmaid and looked lovely in
a pink silk dress with a bouquet of
,pink carnations and fern. Little Miss
Elizabeth Morton, your sister of
bride was flower girl in rose with blue
accessories, carrying pink carnations
and white sweetpeas, The groom was
supported by Mr. Glen Ho'Well's of
Conn, The groom's gift to the bride
was a cabinet of silver, to bridesmaid,
a gold locket and chain, and to the
groomsman a gold key chain, to flow-
er girl a silver bracket, The bride's
brother, George Morton, and uncle,
Sydney Dunn, acted as ushers and re-
ceived a bill fold and, cigarette case.
After the ceremony the friends and re-
latives gathered at a reception held
at the bride's grand parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Dunn. The guests were
received by the bride's mother, wear-
ing pale blue with a corsage of talis-
man roses, assisted by the groom's
mother attired in military blue with a
corsage of American beauty roses. The
guests numbering fifty enjoyed a de-
licious repast. The table was beauti-
fully decorated, a three tier wedding
cake adorned the centre. The happy
couple was toasted by the groom's fa-
ther, Thomas McInnes and the bride's

Aldin Pardon had the • hay
pressing outfit at his barn last week,
and is now drawing out baled, hay and
straw,
Brick Church W.M.S.- are holding
their World Day of Prayer on Friday
at the home of Mrs. Leslie Wightman.
• Miss Evelyn Leaver is laid up with
an attack of mumps.
Mrs. Thos. Moore has been on the
sick list during the week-end.
Mr. Lloyd Mason received his dis-
charge in London on Saturday and is
now home, Mr. Kenneth Mason spent
the week-end with friends in Centralia.
Mr. and Mrs, John Mason received
word that their son, Pte. Harold Mas-
on had been in the hospital in Ger-
many with diphtheria, and is now able
to be out again.
Tpr. Joseph St. Marie, who has been
laid up with tonsilitis, reports on
Thursday in Hamilton.
Miss Helen Thompson of Western
University, London, spent the week-
end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Thompson, East Wawanosh.
Farm Forum. was held on Monday
evening at, the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Cecil Falconer and at the home of
Mr, and Mrs. Leslie Wightman, where
Mr. Lawrence Taylor gave them a talk
on the warble fly.
GORRIE
The World Day of Prayer is being
held in the United Church on Friday
afternoon, at 3 p.m. when members
from all three churches will assist in
this service. All the women in the
community are asked to put forth a
special effort to attend this prayer ser-
vice.'
The Red Cross Rooms will remain
closed until. March 23rd, when it is
requested that all sewing and knitting
he returned...completed if passible by
that date.

O.S. Jack Underwood, R.0 N re-
ported back to London on Thursday
last and secured his discharge from the
navy. He was accompanied by Cpl.
Kenneth Underwood who is receiving
his discharge.
Mr. and Mrs, Jack Hutchison en-
tertained the members and friends of
the 6th and 9th Red Cross group at
their home on Tuesday night, when
they presented -0,S, Jack Underwood
son of Mr. and Mrs. E. /-1..Unclerwood
and whose mother is a member of this
group, with a purse of money. The
evening was spent in euchre, prizes
being won by Mrs. C. R. Black, .Mrs,
E. J. Farrish and Mr. ,C. E. Gregg,

Bingo. Following the presentation, to
which Jack thanked his friends, Mr.
and Mrs, Percy Ashton supplied music
for Old Time Dancing.

the A.Y.P.A, entertained the Y.P.U.
at a social which was held in the
