Church of the Air" on Tuesday morn-
ing, he was assisted by the Junior
Quartette, Messrs, Norman 11/tcDowell,
Harvey McDowell, Douglas, Camp-
bell and Lloyd Walden with Winnifred
Campbell as pianist.
The Young Peoples'. Meeting last
week was led by Miss Pearl. Jamieson,
with Phyllis Cook at the piano. The
scrOture lesson was read by Bill Buch,,,
anan; Prayer by Murray McDowell.
Thine topic on Africa was given by
Mrs, Harold Snell, The meeting clos-
ed with the benediction.
Miss Roberta McVittie of Goderich,
spent Sunday under the parental roof.
Mr. and Mrs. Writ, Carter Aid fam-
ily, motored to London on Thursday
and little Jimmy Carter was able to
return home with them, and is doing
as well as can be expected.
The farmers have -been busy digging
potatoes the past week, and have sore
backs, and not much to show for it.
Some farmers not getting their seed
ibatk. There will be no good spuds
wasted this year in this distriet.
The Red. Cross quilting -was held in
the basement of the church on Wed-,
nesday n.m. Three guilts were quilt,
ed. A pot luck dinner Was served.
The W. M. S. meeting wa§ held in the
afternoon with the devotional pro-
gram in charge of Mrs. Norman Rad-
ford, Rev. Harold Snell, addressed the

business. It Was, decided to purchase
with the Red Cross money; 2 pair of

Congratulations are extended to Mr.
Win. H. Campbell of this district, who
on Friday reached the grand age of 89
years. He enjoys good health and is
very active, taking a keen interest in
the affairs of the -community.
Mr. Campbell has been a resident
of this community for over 70 years.
Coming from Whitby Township to
Heron County as a boy, In early life
lie was a school teacher and taught for
some years in Huron and Perth Coun-
ties, ultimately choosing farming, as
his life work, He was accustomed to
log, stump, plow and harrow with
oxen, Mr. Campbell resides with his
son Mr, W. A. Campbell and Mrs.
Campbell,
Mr. Geo. Brown of Rushcomb, vis-
ited on Monday with Mr. and Mrs. W.
F. Campbell. Mrs. Campbell returned
home with him to be with her sister,

Blyth was the first Ontario com-
munity to go over the top in the ninth
Victory Loan. By noon on Monday

the farm and will get possession the

ber 1st. •
Tuesday night will be ladies' night

After the boys had expressed their
appreciation all joined in singing "For
