ferns was the scene of a lovely wed-
ding when Joyce Rosalind, daughter
of Mrs. Harry White and the late
Harry White, K.C., of Toronto, be-
came the bride of Thomas Edward
Powell, R.C.A.M.C., son of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert A. Powell,
Rev. IV. G. Nicholson officiated. "0
Promise Me" was sung during the
signing of the register. Given in mar-
riage by her brother, the bride looked
charming in a trained gown of cream
satin with veil and carried a cascade
of white sweet peas and forget-me-
riots, Miss Jean Thompson, maid of
honour, and Miss Jean Platte, brides-
maid, wore rose crepe, while Miss
Mary Powell, sister of the groom, also

A quiet Spring wedding took plaice
at the Presbyterian Manse, White-
church', on Saturday, March 31st at
2:30 p.m., when Janet Gertrude,
youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
Wm. Brown of Langside, became the
bride of Charles Reuben, son of Mrs.
Tiffin and the late Reuben Tiffin.
Rev. A. H. Wilson officiated.
The bride wore a street-length dress
of American Beauty crepe with hat
to match. Mrs. Clark Johnston was
her sister's bridesmaid and wore a
dress of turquoise blue crepe with hat'
to match. The groom was attended
by his brother, Mr, Fred Tiffin,
Following the ceremony, supper was
served at the home of the bride's par-
ents to immediate relatives. They will
reside on the groom's farm, 4th con-
cession of Kinloss.

COUNCIL RECEIVED
AUDITORS' REPORT

Lloyd and Reeve Evans.
Reporting for the executive commit-
tee Mayor Davidson informed the
council that a light was arranged, for
near Mrs, Fixter's home. Arrange-
ments were also made for a large light
at the Parish Hall and for the light at
the Arena. Suitable flash signal for
the night constable will be installed
soon, he said.
A number of accounts were ordered
paid on motion of Councillors Johnson
and Wilkinson.
Councillor Wilkinson reported that
the new drains at the Arena had work-
ed splendidly. He said some cleaning
up there would be done as soon as
help was available.
Councillor Lloyd reported that work
in the cemetery will commence about
March 15th.
Councillor Reavie reported that the
first installment, $100, of the Band
grant has been passed and would be

A letter was read from the Clerk of
Turnberry informing council that the

for Huron and Bruce for the past
eighteen months, it is my intention to-
seek re-nomination in the coming Pro-
vincial Election. It is my firm con-
viction that much can still be done for-
the rural and urban population of
Huron and Bruce, and if given your
support, I will, in the future, as in the
past, have their problems and interests
first and foremost at heart.
