cliffe roses. Jack Clegg of •Clinton,
was best man; The usher was Lorne
Hay of Seaforth, cousin of the groom.

Little Richard Curran had a unique
experience one day last week when he
was trudging along behind the hay-
loader on his father's farm. The tongs
of the loader seemed to reach out and
caught him by the top of his overalls
and then by his shoe and he was drawn
up the loader and his father took • him
out on the top of the load.
Misses' Helen and Dorothy Cross of
Walkerton, are visiting with their
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Mac-
Lean and Betty has returned home.

Haying is over for another year and
went In in fine shape, there being no
rain of any account to spoil it. The
rain which came last week was much
appreciated for the grain, fruit and
root crops.
We were very sorry to learn that
word had been received on Thursday
that P.te. Russell Cook had been ser-
iously wounded, while on duty in
France. Russell went overseas this
spring. We hope to soon hear better
reports.
Rev. Elmer Taylor, Mrs. Taylor of
Thamesford, visited on Friday last
with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Taylor.

vey McCallum were married on Sat-
urday in the Westfield church. The
bride, who hai been on the staff of the
13ank of Commerce and the groont is
one of our young business men. Con-

'Mrs. Laura Wightman who has been
confined to the Clinton, Hospital, re-
turned, home this week,
Master Larry Tunney, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Glenn Tunney of, Ingersoll,
-while riding a tricycle from the drive-
way of his home went over the side-
walk onto the pavement and was
struck by an automobile' and instantly
killed. He was five years of age.
Glen Tunney, the father, is a son of
Mrs. Bert Taylor .and made his home
in Blyth until a few years ago.
• Messrs. Gordon Elliott, W. H. Mor-
riott, Lloyd Wettlaufer and J. A. Cow-
an are attending Masonic Grand Lod-
ge in Toronto, this week.
