New Minister Preached
Rev. J. W. Johnston, the recently
appointed minister for Bluevale and'
Ebenezer United Churches, occupied
he pulpit of both churthes on Sun-
day,
Blyth, Moleswarth, Westfield, Luck-
now, and surrounding °district.
Anniversary, services will be held in
Trinity Anglican Church next Sun-
day,,July 9, at 11.30, and 7.30. The
guest speaker will be Rev. R. M. P.
Bulteel, rector of St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Clinton. Special music will
be provided.
Rev. J. B. and Mrs. Townend of
Princeton, are now at their cottage at
Point Clarke. Miss Kay Townend of
London, will join them at the middle
of the month to spend a weeks' vaca-
tion there.'

Johnston Family Re-union
The annual gathering of the descend-
ants of the late Win. J. Johnston and
Sarah Davidson, was held on the Blue-
vale school park, on Saturday owith
about fifty in attendance.
The afternoon was spent playing
games and having contests and races
of all kinds for young and old. Dinner
and supper• was served. Roy King of
Toronto, was the' newly appointed
president and Chas. F. Johnston, the
ecretary-treashrer. Mrs. Edward .
Johnston, Mrs. Silas Johnston and
'Mrs. Wilbur Mathers were named the
refreshment committee. Guests from
a distance included Mr. and Mrs. Roy
vale, with• Mr. ,and Mrs, Harold Proc-
ter, Margaret Procter returned, to
Binevale with theta for holidays,
Mr. and Mrs, Norman Stonehouse
and family of London, with his, par-
cots, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stonehouse,
James McCrea of Toronto, with hii
parents, Mr, and Mrs, R. McCrea.
Mr. and Mrs. Milian Moore and
daughter Muriel, of Whitechurch, with
their uncle, H. McClenagban and
family.
Mrs. W. Reid and daughter Willa,
Mrs, N. L. Brandon and daughter,
Ottis, of London, Mr. and Mrs.
Dwight Reid, of Quebec, Mrs. J. Skin-
ner of Welland, with Mrs. J. A. Bran-
don.
Mr, and Mrs. James Wightman and
family of Listowel, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil
Black and son Charles, of Molesworth,
with, relatives,
Miss Dorothy 'Wade returned from
spending nine weeks, at a Farm Serv-
ice Camp at Dixie, and went to Lon-
don Sunday to take the summer Norm-
al course.
LAC. Kenneth Wheeler of York-
ton, Sask., is on a two week furlough
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.
Wheeler,
Red Cross To Hold Garden Party
The monthly business meeting of
the Belgrave Red Cross Society, was
held Friday afternoon in the work
rooms. The president, C. R. Coultes,
conducted the meeting, Mrs. J. And-
erson acted as secretary. A letter
from Ralph McCrea thanked the So-
ciety for a gift of knitting, and one
from Borden Scott who is in Italy,
thanked the society for a Christmas
parcel which reached him in April.
Alex 'Manning was appointed as
convener of a reception committee to
meet returned members of the services
to the district, also wives and depend-
ents coming to the community.
A committee composed of C. R.
Coultes, H. Black, Rev. G. H. Dun-
lop, Mrs. E, Anderson and Mrs. P.
Thompson, was formed to prepare a
report on post war reconstruction and
rehabilitation plans for the district.
The secretary was authorized to
send a letter of thanks to the St.
Augustine War Workers for donations
of quilts, also to send a letter of
sympathy to the parents of the late
Roy Pierce, who died of wounds in
England.
Committees were appointed to ar-
range the annual garden party to be
held at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
John McGill on July 20.
It was decided to ask each family
in the territory to donate one pie for
the lunch.
The meeting closed with God Save
the King.
Mission Band Picnic
The Happy Hearts Mission Band of
the United Chtirch held their annual
picnic at the fourth line bridge, on
Friday, June 30, with an attendance
of about 40. The leader, Mrs. Earl
Anderson, was in--charge of the pro-
gram and was assisted by Miss Bar-
bara Michie. Bathing and swimming
was enjoyed, followed by gatries and
races, after which lunch of sandwiches
and cookies was served.
Procter Family Reunion
About 60 members of the Procter
family met for their 13th annual re-
union at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Procter on Saturday evening,
July 1st.
Supper was served on the lawn after
which a program of sports was enjoy.-
ed. Robert and Alvin Procter were
captains for a game of softball, with
Robert's team taking the honours.
The president, Richard Procter,
conducted a business session, when the
following officer swere elected; Pres.,
Alvin. Procter; secretary-treas., Ross
Procter.
The oldest member present was
Mrs. Ellen Procter of Belgrave, who
is over 80 years of age, and the young-
est child was Donald George, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Wilbert Procter, aged
7 months.

Memorial and Decoration Service
Held
The Annual Memorial and Decora-
tion Service of the Brandon Cemetery,
was held Sunday, July 2nd, at 3.30
in the afternoon, arranged by the Bel-
grave Women's Institute, the three
local churches and the cemetery board.
A good crowd attended and flowers
were placed on nearly all the graves,
by relatives or friends,
Rev. Samuel Kerr, of Brussels,
minister of the Presbyterian Church,
gave the Bible reading and led hi
prayer,
Rev, P, H, Streeter of Myth, rector
of Trinity Anglican Church, gave the
address. Rev. G. H. Dunlop of the
United Church was unable to be Pres-
ent on account of illness, The singing
was led by a volunteer choir, with Miss
Nora VariCamp at the organ, and in-
eluded the hymns "O God Our Help
In Ages Past", "What a Prietid We
Have In Jesus" and "Abide With Nie",
A selo, "tieyetid the Sunset" was Um-
tributed by llormatt ICeating.
Friends' were present from Listowel,
Winghatrt, Victoria, Courtright,
King, Toronto, and his mother who
is a guest from Florida; Mr. and Mrs.
Charlton, of Toronto. The weather
was ideal and all enjoyed a happy re-
union.
Newly Weds Honoured
Mr. and Mrs. Charles 'Johnston, re-
cently married,, spent the week-end
with Mr. Johnston's father, David
Johnston, 1st concession of Morris,
and were tendered a hearty reception
by friends and relatives on Friday
evening, at the Jamestown hall. A
complimentary address was read by
Carl Johnston and. Messrs W. J. Pea.-
cook and Campbell Robertson present-
ed the young couple with a silver
service tray and a table,. to'which they
made- suitable reply showing their ap-
preciation,
The evening was spent dancing.

'quilts. A bazaar was held. which
realized. $16.20, Refreshments were
served.' The. lucky: ticket was drawn
on a quilt .donatedl by .Mrs. Stanley.

Belgrave, and who has accepted a
position as teacher of the Brucefield
school, was presenteth-with a silver and
glass butter dish by her former pupils
at the close of the term.
The presentation was made by
Marlene MacKenzie. Muriel Brydges
read the following address.
