He was accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. Paul Campbell of Niagara Falls. Mr. C011opy has lived at Frobisher, Sask., for many years, and his wife passed away there in May, after suf- fering for nearly ten months from a stroke. One son, Kenneth, who was a Flight Engineer in the R.C.A.F., is now a prisoner of war in Germany. Mrs. Jas. MacGregor, Mr. and Mrs. Mac Ross and Miss Olive Terriff, Reg. N., spent Saturday with 'Flight Serge Lloyd Henderson and his bride at Lucknow. They expect to leave next week for Newfoundland. Miss Winnifred Farrier, Toronto, spent Saturday with her par'ents, Mr, and Mrs. W. R. Farrier. Miss Mildred McClenaghan of Ford- wich, spent the week-end. with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Mc- Clenaghan and with Pine River friends. Mr. John Beecroft and Mr. Jimmie McGee and Mr. Gordon McGee, spent the week-end at Otterville with Mr. and Mrs. Melville Beecroft, The church service in the United church here, will start at 10 a.m. this Sunday, and for the summer months. Russel Cowan McKinney 'Passes Away In Toronto Mr. Ross and Mr. Percy King, of Turnberry; Mrs. Gordon Robinson, of Wingham; Mrs. Alec Leaver and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart McBurney of East Wawanosh, motored to Toronto on Saturday to attend the funeral of Russel Cowan MCKinney, son of the late Thos. McKinney and Mrs. Mc- Kinney of Toronto. When a boy he lived with his parents at Bluevale, get- ting his education at Wingham High School. A year ago he went through a serious operation and has been very ill during the past few months. His funeral was held from Myer's Fdneral Parlours to Park Lawn Cemetery, with Rev. Berlys of Dovercourt Unit- ed church in charge of the services. BLUEVALE Died Of Heart Attack Death came with shocking sudden- ess to William. Thoinpson of Toronto, on Monday morning, Mr. Thompson came to the village a few days ago to spend the summer at the Sander- son home here. Death was due to a heart attack. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Thomas E. Henry of Stratford. Baptismal Service Held Rev, F. G. Dow's farm and he will take over the farm work for Mr. Dow, who has not felt so able to carry on this year. AC. Clifford and Mrs. Purdon of Centralia, spent a few days last week with relatives here. A very interesting meeting was held at Brick Church on Thursday last, when sixty-three ladies from the W. M. S. of Westfield, Belgrave, Donnybrook and Whitechurch United Churches met ,with each W. M. S. supplying a number for the program, which was in charge of Mrs. Leslie Wightman. Mrs. Tavener of Bluevale was the special speaker and gave the summary of the work of the W. M., S. Convention for the London Confer- enbe, which was held at Ingersol in May. The Brick church ladies served lunch and all enjoyed the social time. Miss Edith McClenaghan, teacher in S.S. No. 13, East Wawanosh., has re- signed and will teach next year in Bel- grave school, while Miss Clara Mc- Gowan of Blyth, will take charge of this school, Mr. Alec Kennedy of Winnipeg, arrived home last week after spending 18 years in the West. The Kennedy families held a picnic at Kincardine on Friday and were all meeting at the old home, with Mr. and Mrs. George Kennedy on Sunday. Among those who were there were, their mother, Mrs. David Kennedy; Mr. and Mrs, Duncan Kennedy, Wingham; Mr. and Mrs, Harry Tichbourne, Goderich; Mr, and Mrs. Lorne Durnin and sons, St. Helens, and Alec, Pete and Annie. PO. Tom Wilson and Mrs. Wilson, who have been visiting relatives here and at St. Helens for the past ten days, left on Saturday for an Eastern port. Mrs. Roy Patten of St. Georges, spent the week-end with her mother, Mrs. A. Fox. Miss Isabel Fox, R.N., left on Sun- day to supply for the holiday season in Kincardine Hospital. Miss Agnes Wilson, Reg. N., -who has been nursing in a Toronto hospital, is spending her holidays with her mother, Mrs. Jas. Wilson. Many will be sorry to learn that Mrs, (Rev.) Jas. Scobie of Wilton Grove, has been seriously ill in Vic- toria Hospital, London. She went through a serious operation about 3 weeks ago, and last week pneumonia developed, but she has shown some improvement. Received Letter From The Sudan Mr, and Mrs, E. H. Strong are in receipt of a letter from Mr, Seymour Gray, B. Sc, A, Dip: Agric. (Cantab) A,LC,T.A„' who is an Inspector of Agriculture in the Sudan Government service. Seymour who his friends will remember, worked at Me, Strong's 21/a years coming from England at the age of151/2 years, arriving here in May of 1930, His letter was dated February 23 and was delivered here on Jane 10, and contains an interest- ings account of farming in the Sudan. On Friday evening, June 11th, a number of friends and neighbours of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McAllister gathered to bid farewell to them be- fore they leave for their new home in Listowel. They were presented with a lovely electric floor lamp, an elec- tric table lamp and a electric perco- lator. Mr. and Mrs. McAllister thank - ed them for their kindness, after which all joined in singing Auld Lang Syne. ST. HELENS Mrs. Gordon, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Salkeld` and Lawrence, Mr. and Mrs. W. I, Miller, Mrs. T. J. Todd and Anna and Mrs. McIntyre, attended the Salkeld picnic held at the Seaforth Lion's Park on Saturday. Services at the United Church were withdrawn on Sunday owing to the anniversary of the ,Whitechurch Unit- ed church, Pilot Officer T. F. Wilson left on Saturday for an Eastern camp. He was accompanied by Mrs. Wilson. Mrs, Arnold Woods of Fergus, is a visitor with her mother, Mrs. R. J. Woods.
