Put Lighted Matches To Gas Tank Six youths appeared in juvenile court at Goderich, in connection with the burning of an automobile. They had been playing with matches hi a used car lot, and one boy put a lighted one in a gasoline tank to see what would happen, It happened. The re- sulting explosion blew the end out of the tank, the car caught fire,. and one boy was sprayed with gasoline, but luckily his clothes did not catch fire, The lads were put on probation and given a lecture on the use of matches. Parents agreed to pay for the damage to the automobile, the blaze being ex- tinguished by firemen, To Face Charge At Walkerton Wanted in Bruce County for alleged theft of grain, Benson Hackett, 30, of Goderich, was arrested at Goderich for Walkerton police, and. officers from Walkerton took him back there. ,• Banded Pigeon Killed Mr. William Middleton of Goderich Township on Wednesday brought into the office the foot and leg band of a pigeon. The bird had apparently been killed the night before in his barn. On the leg band was the following C.U. 41815, The owner may have the band upon enquiry at this office.—Clinton News Record. Visiting At Port Elgin Lieut, W. R. Tomlinson, H.P., for Bruce, who received leave from his unit to attend the present session of Parliament, is taking advantage of the Easter recess to spend two weeks at Port Elgin, accompanied by Mrs. Tomlinson, Lieut.
