The regular monthly meeting of the
Women's Institute was held on Tues-
day last with the president, Mrs.
Lance Grain in charge, After the
opening exercises, each answered the
roll call by naming some prominent
man or woman of today. Mrs. Gilles-
pie had handed in 6 quilts for June
and had 12 for July, and $2 for a
blanket from Mrs. Leask McGee's
group. Mrs. Thos. Moore gave a
reading on, "The Man of the Hour,
the Great Churchill", All sang, "Rule
Brittania," A report of the district
annual meeting, prepared by Grace
Richardson, was read by Miss Olive
Terriff, All sang The Maple Leaf and
0 Canada. Rev. W. A. Beecroft then
gave an address on Temperance, urg-
ing the ladies as a group and individ-
ually to work towards temperance, and
speaking on War Work and Red Cross
work in relation to the Women's Insti-
tute. In conclusion he sang, A Toast
to Canadians. Mrs, G. E. Farrier gave
a piano solo, and the meeting was
closed with the National Anthem.

on Saturday attending the marriage of
Miss Dorothy Caskenette, and Mr.
Bert Hennische, with her sister,. Miss
Beatrice Caskenette and his brother,
Mr. 5. Hennische, as attendants, in the
Roman Catholic Church there: The
wedding breakfast was served at the
borne of the brides grandmother, Mrs.
Cletheler, and the wedding dinner at
the home of her sister, Mrs. George
Mowatt of Kitchener. Mrs. Cletheler,
who has recently had a stroke, return-
ed home with her daughter, Mrs.
Caskenette.
