Under and by virtue of the powers
of sale contained in a certain mort-
gage which will be produced at the
time of sale there will be offered for

of f. H. Crawford, Wingham, on Fri-
day, May 1st, 1942, at 2 o'clock in the

ALL AND SINGULAR that cer-
tain parcel or tract of land and prem-
ises situate, lying and being in the
Township of East Wawanosh in the
County of Huron and Province of Ont-
ario and being composed of the west
half of Lot number Twenty-eight in
the Eighth Concession of the said
Township of East Wawanosh contain-
ing one hundred acres of land more
or less, save and except one and one-
half acres, being the northwest corner
of the said lot.
This property is situated about six
and one-half miles from Auburn and
Whitechurch and is watered by a
spring creek and windmill. The land
is said to be mostly clay loam and
there is about ten acres of bush on
the property, consisting mainly •of
small maple and beech. There is also
on the property a small frame house.
TERMS OF SALE: 10 per cent
of the purchase money on the day of
sale and the balance within 30 days

a number of farmers have finished
seeding,
Mr. Erving Zinn has bought 100
acres of the Taylor farm on the 11th
concession, near Pintail,
Mrs, Donald Fowler, .Dungannon,
has her cottage at Port .Albert finnish-
ed very nicely inside.
People from London and Kitchener
have been fishing at the lake where
the smelts are so plentiful this year.
We are sorry to hear that Mrs.
Charles Ritchie, 12 t h concession, is not
improving in health lately. Mrs,
Esther Purvis is caring for her at
present,

Mrs. Cooper attended the burial of
her mother, Mrs, Neil. White at Mt.
Forest on Saturday and spent the
week-end with friends there,
Mr. Russel Webb is home from
Hamilton where he has spent the past
few months.
The annual meeting of the Women's
Institute will be held in the Commun-
ity Hall on Thursday, May 7 at 2.30.

day evening of last week.
We are pleased to hear that Miss
Doreen Vincent has returned from
Clinton Hospital and is improving
nicely.
Mrs. Alice Tyerman has returned
to her home in Learhington, after
spending several weeks at the home of
her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. W. F.
Campbell.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Deans and babe
of Wingham, visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Norman McDowell.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Vincent of Bel-
grave were recent Westfield visitors.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Miller and Ruth
of Goderich, visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Camp ell.
Mrs. Osbaldeston has returned to
her home in Goderich after spending
some weeks with her daughter, Mrs.
Norman McDowell.
Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Campbell, Miss
Winnifred were Comber and St.
Thomas week-end visitors.
Miss Sturdy of Wingham is visiting
her sister, Mrs. Lewis Cook.
The Young People's meeting was
held on Friday evening with ,Miss Jean
McDowell in change. Phylis Cook
presided at the piano. Scripture les-
son was read by Ray Vincent. Violin
solo was given by Harvey McDowell.
Topic on True Friendship, was given
by Mildred Thornton. The meeting
closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
Little Jack Caldwell spent the week-
end with his grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Govier.
Mrs. Wm, Govier visited, Mrs. Har-
ry Govier 'of Auburn on the latter's
birthday last Friday.
Mr. W. H. Campbell received word
on Monday of the passing of his
brother-in-law, Dr. Wm. Carr of Los
Angles, California. Dr. Carr was a
veterinary surgeon and lived in Blyth
for several years before going to Cali-
fornia. He was born and grew to
manhood in this vicinity.

ed last week from Halifax where they
spent the winter season. They were
accompanied home by their daughter,
Mrs. Maxwell MacFarlane and daugh-
ter Frances, who will spend some time
here,
Mrs. M. Muir who has spent the
winter months with her son in Tor-
onto, is now visiting her daughter,
Mrs. Thomas Wallace,
Miss Margaret Chaplain also Mr.
Cliff Denny, both of Toronto, were
week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Vern
Denny.
Mrs, John Fraser also her brother,
Mr. Harold Hastings., both of Ridge-
town, visited on Sunday with Mrs. J.
Lovell and other friends in the district,
Master Jack McLaughlin, Wingham,
and Master Arnold Lillow, of Blue-
vale, visited on Sunday with John
MacNaughton, 2nd line.
Miss Robertson, Wingham, is a
guest of her neice, Mrs. J. H. Wylie,
and Mr. Wylie.
Friends of Ted Smith are pleased
to see him back to work again.
Dr. W. A. and Mrs. Spence, Tor-
onto, were week-end guests of Mr. and
Mrs. R. J. Rarin.
Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Allen recently
spent a few days at Dyers Bay,
Mrs. Clarence White is spending a
few days with her sister, Mrs. George
Faulkner, Toronto.
Seriously Injured In Fall
Mr. Milvert Sellers, Wroxeter, re-
ceived painful arid serious injury on
Thursday last, while engaged in
shingling at the home of Mrs. Wm.
Gallagher, when he fell 20 feet to the
gorund landing on a bunch of shingles.
His arm was broken in two places,
cuts and bruises on head and face and
possible internal injury. Mr. Sellers
was taken to Wingham Hospital and
on Tuesday was taken to Toronto
hospital to have the fracture reduced.
His many friends will wish him a
speedy recovery.
C. G. I. T. Plan Bazaar
Mrs. A. Moffat opened her honie
for the April meeting of the C. G. I.
T. which was a work meeting with
11 members present. The meeting
opened with the singing of Nearer My
God to Thee. Thelma Denny led in
prayer. The Purpose" was repeated
by the group. Come let us sing of
a Wonderful Love, was the second
hymn. The Scripture reading was
given by Helen Sawtell: Frances
Wylie contributed a piano solo, "The
Shepherds Fair Name." During the
business period plans were made to
hold a Bazaar on May 30th. In con-
nection besides a sale of an assortment
of articles a Tea will be served. Com-
mittees were named. Meeting closed
with Taps and God Save the King.
Batptismal Service
On Sunday, May 10th, the Annual
Mothers Day Service will be carried
out in United Church. At the same
time service for Baptism will take
place. A special program will be car-
carried out in the Sunday School ,at
10 a.m, to which parents and friends
are cordially invited.
Women's Institute
The May meeting of the W. I. will
be held on Thursday, May 7th, 3 p.m,
at the home of Mrs. Frank Sander-
son.' Roll Call—Paying of Fees. This
will be an All Members Program. The
hostess will be assisted at the tea hour
by Mrs. Allen Munroe.
Young People's Union
The members of the Y. P. U. fol-
lowing a cost enjoyable and success
ful winter season, held their final
meeting on Monday evening last.
Games and contests were carried out
and refreshments were served. The
meetings will be resumed in early
autumn.
Former Resident Passes
Interment was made in the family
plot Wroxeter Cemetery on Friday
last of the late Archie McMichael, of
Brampton. Mr, McMichael whose
health has been failing for some years
died early Wednesday Morning as the
result of a heart attack,

lived in the West for some years,
then following his Marriage to Mis
Annie Wilson of Fordwich, resided i
Brampton. Surviving are his wif
and four brothers, William, Robert an
