Don built the car from bits and pieces collected from around his home and other places. He bought the body part from the old car Flea Market here last sum- mer, the wheels at a junk- yard, the fenders at a flea market in Barrie and the steering wheel from Mel Jermyn of RR2, Bluevale. Right now he's only using the car for advertising pur- poses but thinks he'll pro- bably end up showing it in parades Nice the Santa Claus parade, etc. Don has been a member of the Antique Car Club for about 10 years now but says he was raised around cars and antique cars all of his life. He still has a Model A he learned to drive before he was 10 years old. Restoring old cars is part job and part hobby. He has a car in the shop right now, that is a 1929 Oakland owned by Greg SMith of Atwood. Brussels is Don's hometown but he started out his ap- prenticeship in Listowel working at S and. K Esso. From there he went to Carl' Auto Body in Brussels, work- ed there for six years, then came to Frank's Auto Body. He has also spent a year at John Brown Motors in Gerrie and had restored quite a few cars for them.
