Reeve
TOM PLETCH
Torn Pletch says he chose
to run , for the position of
reeve because he believes he
cotild do more as reeve than
he could on council.
Of his reason for wanting
the job he says, "I would like
to see more leadership and
progress. HaYing lived here
most of my life, I 'am ,
interested in the village and
everyone it it, Foreseeing
some of the needs of the
future, I would like to see
some industry here to pro-
vide more jobs for our,
working class.
A large number of Brussel
citizens have to drive miles to
work every day. More job
opportunities mean more - new
homes, and more business
for our stores," he said.
He thinks one of the main
sisues facing the municipal-
ity in the next two years will
be the sewers which are
scheduled to start next year.
"Having worked on con-
struction work for 22 years, I
feel ,I have had a great deal of
experience with, and under-
standing of their need and
also the problems that we
will be facing. I feel that this
knowledge will be an asset at
this time in our municipality,
he said.
Mr. Pletch has served on
Brussels council for two
years. He is a construction
foreman with E&E Seeg-
miller Ltd. of Kitchener and
has been with them for 12
years. For 10 years prior to
this he worked with another
construction firm and the
County of Huron, along with
operating a farm.,

Imperial Bank of Commerce,

four - two sons and two
daughters.

Huron County and ha ..s been
on the.,DC Commission as
well,
He decided to again run as
reeve because, "I wanted to
finish the job I started and
because the sewers were
coming in, I considered it
• needed an experienced man
to check on it, and to help the
village progrO's.:"
"Wcfte doing our best to
get some industry into the
village and still make it a
nice place' to live and the
prettiest village in Ontario, "

facing the village.
He is married and has two
children, a son and a
daughter.

walks are also priorites to
him and he, says he will try
and ;serve the ratepayers to
the best of his knowledge...
ELIZABETH GRABER
Elizabeth Graber who is
taking her first stab at
running for a council position
says she chose to run for
Brussels council because "K t,
genuine concern for the
future of Brussels would be
the main reason for myis
wanting the job-of councilloi,
As the wife of a businessman
and mother of two small
boys, the future years of
Brussels concern me; and so
I hope to do my part to make
it a good place to live by
seeking one of the council
seats."
To her, the smooth and
efficient initiation of. the
sewage program will be main
part of the council 'work as
well as the business of
operating the town as effect-
ively as possible.
She is married to Carl

body repair shop in Brussels

in, the progress of the village.

run again for council so he
could finish the, job he
started of relighting the
village in places where it is
needed, to help get small
industries into the village
which he believes would be a'
help to all in the village and
to continue to see a fair deal
for all in the village regard-
less of name or religion.
He thinks that the main
issue facing,thevillage in the
next two years would-be the
sewers if they came.
Mr. Jacobs who has been
on Brussels council for 'two
years has also belonged to
different clubs and numerous
community projects over the

position , on Brussels council
last year following the' resig-
nation of a, councillor.

GEORGE COUSINS
project is a must, so when it
comes, it comes, there is
nothing we can do. We are
not the only village with this
problem, there are others not

the case, \ then the council

again because. "I felt I could
do justi .ce to the taxpayers
of the village. I am always
around town and could be
