FIRST YEAR WINNER — Murray Sholdice,
R.R.3, Walton, receives the Bank of Montreal,
Clinton award from Earl Hilderley as the top
first year 4-H swine club member in the Huron
County Port Producers' Swine Club.
At a meeting held Wednesday night, at
the Brussels Inn, members of the Brussels
Business Association (BBA) discussed hold-
ing.
,
Carnival Days again next year.
. They plan to hold a midway across from,
the old arena or it may be taken to the park
with more rides and games for the children.
A suggestion was made to contact each
club hi the area as to the date of the carnival;
and it is hoped that they will keep this,
weekend free of any dances. The BBA also ,
hopes to have another Trash and Treasure] i
day.
A money prize of $50, a money prize of $201
and a money prize of $10 are to be offered. A;
street dance would be held on main street. It(

4-H Swine Club, won the Canadian Imperial
Bank of Commerce award for the champion 4-H
gilt, presented by Jim Gould.
is hoped to have a soap box derby for the
kids down Tory Hill and they are also hoping
to hold a skate board tournament, A Sunday
afternoon jamboree is to be looked into with
Rand R Enterprises.
Revenue of $881.42 from Carnival Days
this year went to pay for the street signs in
Brussels.
In December, the stores will be open every
Monday from 9 a.m, to 6 p.m. and on
Christmas week on Wednesday, ..Thrusday
and Friday nights till nine.
The 1979 dues are $15 to the first of the
year and $18 afterwards. The next meeting
will be held on the first Wednesday in
January.
Duff's turkey
supper serves 850
Mr. and Mrs. Chris In-
gram of Missisauga spent a
couple of days last week at
the home of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Coutts, also
visiting her sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Allan Carter and family
of Clinton.
There were nine ladies
from the Walton W.I. who
attended the Cranbrook W.I.
meeting evening when Marie
McGavin showed pictures of
their trip to Costa Rica and
other interesting local
pictures.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mills
spent the weekend in
Burlington with Drs. Jear
and Gerd Westormann.
Last Wednesday .the
weather was ideal for those
attending the Turkey Supper
at Duff's United CHurch. It
meant a few busy days for
those who came to the church
'on Monday to clean, wash
dishes and put up tables. The
vegetables were prepared on

basis of awards in Huron County from Paul

Godkin, R.R.1 Walton, receives the Huron Pork
Producers trophy from Tom Papple, president
of the association, for obtaining the highest
number of points in 4-H Swine Clubs in 1978.

Tuesday, dressing put in
,turkeys ready to be cooked
by those who offered to take
one home. Wednesday
November 1 was the big day
when a large crowd turned
out, Everything was ready to
begin at 3.30 when the first
table sat down going through
till 8:30 when approximately
8 50 people were fed. They
all reported it was well worth
it after the wait up in the
church auditorium where
they were entertained by
Mrs. lan Wilbee, Mrs. Ray
Huether and Mrs. Jack
Bryans with organ and piano
music. Thursday morning
was clean up day and much
thanks goes out to all who
helped make the supper such
a success for another year.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Steven-
son, Ronald and Christopher
were supper guests on Sun-
day at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Allan McCall, it *being
the occasion of Christopher's
second birthday.,
A demonstration of
Christmas crafts is planned
for Thursday evening at the
home Mrs. Jim Axtmann to
which the public is invited.
Miss Ann Watson, Sarnia
visited a couple of days last
week at the home of her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Watson.
