The concert is sponsored by CKNX FM Sterio 102 and the Blyth Centre for the Arts and will feature the popular bluegrass band The Dixie Flyers who performed at Memorial Hall last spring. The Flyers are one of the top bluegrass bands in Ontario and have a popular following in many areas. Also on hand for the concert will be Dublin-area recording artist Bob 13urchill. Mr. Burchill has performed his blend of folk and country music across Ontario and as far away as Sweden. His album Will I Ever Get to Heaven has been widely praised by music critics. The third act on the, bill is Barb Bantield of London who A lot of people are walking around with those little pock- et calculators and nothing in their pockets worth calcu- lating. • Two friends arrived at the country club for a morning mund of golf. The first one .stepped up to the tee, took a roighly swing, and made a startling hole in one. The second man, glancing at his buddy's achicvment, stepped up to his ball and said; "Al. rightee! Now I'll take MY practice swing and then we'll start the- gamer Bibi Caspari Wed, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. the Blyth Centre for the Arts b rings Caspari and Company mime dance Theatre to Western Ontario. Mime is the Universal Language and has the ability to communicate and entertain all age groups. Casp,ari and Company were recently well received at the Toronto Zoo where they entertained • for , hours both children and adults. Bibi Caspari, founder and artistic director of Caspari and Company Mime Dance Theatre, was initially schooled in the. French Mime tradition. From this base she went on to broaden her skills by further study in related fields such as acting, ballet, acrobatics, and modern dance. Starting with solo performances in 1973, her work expanded to include presentations with ,other artists, including musicians, dancers, and poets. Ms. Caspari has performed in various areas of Canada and the United States, including Ottawa's national arts Centre. She has performed and choreographed for numerous T.V. programs, among them T.V. Ontario's "Tell Me a Story" and CBC'S "Music to See." Her work has been recognized by the Ontario Arts Council from whom sh e has received choreography awards, creative artis:, the schools grants, and Playwright's grants. Bibi Caspari and -Company's performance to be seen in Blyth on Nov. 1 will include the Hunter, the Conductor, Follow the Line, Caspari the Boxer and much more.
