MILLER—WALL
Nancy Lyn Wall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Wall
of Alymer, and John Lennis Miller,•son of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Miller of R.R.4, Brussels, were married in St.
John's Anglican Church, Brussels on June 24.
Reverend Dan Sargent officiated at the double ring
ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her
father Percy Wall. The maid, .of honor was Jane Elston
of London and the bridesmaids were Krystyna
Smorowski of Aylmer and Doris Miller sister of the
groom of R.R.4, Brussels. Susan Wall, niece of the
bride, was the flowergirl. Brian Alcock cousin of the
groom was ringbearer. The groomsman was Lawrence
Machan of Brussels and the ushers were DonaldWall
brother of the bride from Aylmer and Thomas Miller
brother of the groom of R.R.4, Brussels. Michelle
McCutcheon was the organist.Thereception was held at
Family Paradise following the wedding. The couple are
residing in Thamesford.

CONTROLLED BURNING - A MARSH MANAGEMENT
TOOL — Controlled burning of marsh vegetation
can be beneficial to wildlife. Dead marsh vegetation
builds up and inhibits new plant growth. Burning
releases nutrients and allows sunlight to penetrate
to the soil, encouraging new plant growth. Slow
burns• in dry peat may create holes which eventually
fill with water. These potholes increase the diversity
of the marsh. Fast burns remove dead plant litter
without harming the plants .themselves. These
techniques increase diversity within marshes which
benefits wildlife.
