Stratford director granted year's sabbatical
Robin Phillips, artistic
director of the Stratford
Festival, will be taking a
sabbatical for one year, -
Earlier this summer, the
artistic director had submit-
ted his resignation to the
festival's board of governors,

will give Mr. Phillips time to
recuperate without forcing
him to sever his ties with the

respite has been recognized
in academic circles for many
years," Mr. Henry said. "I
believe in other professions
as well there is growing
awareness that highly placed
innovators who live and work
daily under enormous pres-
sure .and whose jobs demand.
