King of Listowel were married in a double ring ceremony at Melville „Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 22. Reverend Kenneth In ner and at:ed. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her godfather, Samuel Sweeney of Brussels, and given in marriage by her mother. The Maid of honor was Joan Huether (close friend of the bride) and bridesmaids were Mary Ireland, Brussels (sister of the bride); Jane Elston of RR I, Aiwa (cousin of the bride);Mrs. Patricia McIntosh of RR 4, Atwood (sister of the groom); and Laurie King of Listowel (daughter of the: groom). The best man was Dana King of Mount' Forest (brother of the groom); and ushers were Murray McCall of RR •I, Scaforth (cousin of the bride);. Gregory King of Walkerton ,(brother orthe groom); Scott Keith, Oakville, (cousin of the bride); and Donald McIntosh,of RR 4, AtwOod (brother-in-law of the gloom). Mrs. Joanne King of Brussels provided traditional and modern wedding music and Gail and Gloria White, both of Briissels sang 'The Twelfth of Never'; 'One Hand, One. An honored guest at his granddaughter's wedding was William Ireland of the Callander Nursing Home, Brussels. For a honeymoon, the couple -travelled to .Las Vegas Nevada and are now residing at 689 Barber Avenue North, Listowel. He was born near Mon- crieff in Grey Township, the son of Neil Nair MeTaggart and Ellie Mitchell. In August 1936 he married Inez Marie Huether of Cranbook who survives him. He was predeceased by two brothers Jack and Gbrdon and is survived by two sons, Neil of Hanover and Dale of R.R.5, Stratford and two daughters Kathryn Achilles of Walton and Ruth Lowe of Brussels. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Eric Le Drew of the Brtisseli United Church from the M.L. Watts Funeral honie on Saturday, August 19, Pallbearers were Ralph Pearson, Glen Smith, Bill McNair, ROSS Nichol, Calvin Krauter and John MeCutcheon. Flowerbearers were Brian and David Huether, hitch -tient was in the :.'ratibrook cemetery. • use schools more Area wedding People. in Perth County are Making better use of the 31 public schools in the area, than they ever have before, according to a report presented last week to the Perth Board of Education. The report, compiled by Superintendent of Business and Finance Lee Anderson, indicates a significant rise in the number of hours spent .by the community in-the schools during the past year as compared with the year before. The report represents good news to the board, which has a policy of encouraging the community to use school facilities when not recidired for school purposes. It was compiled through the data taken from permits issued over the year, Total community use of the schools rose to 10,313 hours this year as compared with 9,146 hours one year ago. The five Perth high schools saw 5,244 hours of use while the community spent 5,069 hours in the elementary schools. - Of the high schools, St. Marys District Collegiate and 'Vocational institute was used the most by the public, who spent 1,649 hours in the building, an increase of alMost 200 hours over last year.
