The rain didn't stop the Brussels Bombers from play- ing ball and their loyal fans stayed and cheered them on to victory. The score was •10-10 after seven complete innings. It took three more innings to finally break the tie. A triple by Pam "Babe" Clark followed. by a ground at the Wellesley batters. The team decided that Pat "Jaws" Langlois was the extra lift needed for the Bombers to win. This win advances the Bombers to the- semi-finals by putting Wellesley out 2 games to one. The Bombers hope to see their loyal fans at the next game, rain or shine. When Pat "Jaws" Lang- lois changed positions to catcher, her personality changed too. She went from a nervous quiet pitcher to ,a relaxed noisy catcher. Her voice carried all the way to the outfield while she 'jawed' Bombers tie game in rain Over 400 ride at Wa lton Motocross Despite wide extremes in weather conditions this past weekend, the fifth annual Walton Motocross, hosted by the Maitland Dirt Riders on the farms of Ron and Chris Lee, 17th concession of Grey, was acclaimed a great success. Over 400 riders and 3000 spectators poured in from hundreds of miles for an action packed programme of motocross racinglon what is popularly regarded as one of Canada's finest motocross tracks. The Walton Recreation Committee, which supplied food and drink prevailed through Saturday's incle- ment weather to serve up huge quantities of bacon burgers, hot dogs and hot mb corn to appreciative riders and spectatbrs.
