are Senior Citizens, or others who
are not able to have a garden of
their own, what a treat it would be
to be able to purchase vegetables
fresh from the garden and fresh
picked fruits, Sigh a market need
not be restricted to garden
produce but all kinds of things
could be offered for sale.

It is said that a recent survey
has shown that 8Q per cent of all
drivers ignore the posted speed
limits. Twenty per cent - drive
more than 10 miles an hour above
the speed limit, This is not
attributed to the change over to
• the metric system, but simple
because drivers pay no attention
to posted limits. The high
percentage that ignore them does
not surprise this driver. As I drive
decorously along at' the indicated
speed most cars go zipping by.
and leave me far behind. Let
them go. I enjoy life. In this day
and age too many people seem in
an unhealthy rush.

Controlling
pantry
pests
Thorougely scrub the cupboard
shelves which harbored the in-
sects with detergent_. and water,
checking all cracks and spaces
where crumbs can lodge. Then
use a stronger cleaning agent to
clean the whole area again. Let
the cupboard. area dry out. Wipe
all packaged good.scarefully be-
fore reloading . them into the
cupboard. Recheck cupboards in
a day or two.
To help prevent infestations,
buy foods susceptible to insects in
small quantities. By doing this,
you will avoid having to store
these foods for. long periods of
time. Store susceptible foods in
tightly-covered containers to pre-
vent insects from entering.
Always use up older packages
first. Keep the storage area clean.
RetnoVe any crumbs or bits of
food front shelves -and crevices.
Check the cupboards regularly
and keep them as clean as.
possible.
Certainy anyone's pantry can
be infested by insects. But they
may avoid yours if you use a few
sensible precautions.
