night.
The contest is a first for Blyth
and according to its sponsor, The
Blyth Centre for the Arts, it could
be the beginning of something
big.
Judy Savoy, the evening
weathergirl on CFPL television
and an announcer for CFPL radio,
will play the role of a nosy gossip
columnist in the Grand Bend
Playhouse production of Parlor,
Bedroom and Bath.
Miss Savoy, who was a stage
actress before getting into the
broadCast field, becomes en-
tangled in a hilarious menage a.
ttmfs in the 1920's play, written by
"Charles Bell, who was a Hamilton
lawyer.
The production of Parlor, Bed-
room and Bath is , the second
production in the playhouse
salute to six decades of theatre.
Not only was Mr. Bell's play a
smash hit on Broadway, but it
was later made into a Hollywood
movie starring comedian Buster
Students
graduate from
Laurier
Local students who have
graduated from Wilfred Laurier
University in Waterloo this spring
include: Irene Mary Konarski,

Jimmy Lawrie. The contest has
had a, good response with
entrants coming from all, over

performers including a trophy for

popular throughout the 1920's but
then fell into obscurity.

30 years.

room and Bath opens on July 18
