Miss Mary MacDonald, Toronto, spent the long weekend at her home. We welcome Mr. and Mrs. Stan Bentley and son Dean to our community. They have moved from Atwood to the former Fraser house. Stan is now operating his body shop in what was formerly Engel's garage. GRADUATION Joyce Ireland, daughter of Mrs. James Ireland, R.R.5, Brussesls, graduated from the Food Service Management Course of the Home Economics Division at Centralia College on May 12. She was one of 28 graduates in the course. Cranbrook WMS hears about Eve Correspondent Mrs. Mac Engel 887-6645 The W.M.S. met at the home of Mrs. Jack Knight with 14 ladies present. The leader Mrs. Stewart Steiss based the worship on "Mother". The Scripture Cdossians 3 v. 15-25 was read in unison. Mrs. Steiss gave a reading "Homes". Answers given by children to the question "What is a "Mother"?" were interesting and true to life. Mrs. Stuart Stevenson, the president • conducted the business. It was announced that the Spring Conference would be held in Knox Church, Mitchell on Tuesday, May 30 at 2:30 and 7:30. Mrs. Gordon Alexander, the presbyterial visitor will attend June 14 at the home of Mrs. Lytle Gordon. Several who attended the recent meeting in the Presbyterian Church at Atwood told how much they enjoyed the meeting. The treasurer,Mrs. Clare Veitch gave her report. Members• reported sending 10 cards and making 4 visits. Mrs. Wilfred 'Strickler and Mrs. Stuart McNair will hand out the "Alive" leaflets on Sunday :morning. The roll call was a favorite name for the Bible . Mrs. Gordon Engel gave the topic on "Eve, a woman". All trouble began with Eve when she yielded to temptation and ate ' of the forbidden fruit, she said. A social time followed when lunch was. served by the hostess, Mrs. McNair and Mrs. Leslie Knight.
