Huron East Women's Institutes
met in Brussels United Church,
Tuesday May 9, for their 76th
annual meeting. The theme was
"From Small Beginnings, come
great things." Mrs. John
Freeman district president
chalred the meeting.
Mrs. Stewart Anderson
F.W.I.O. Board member reported
on area work being done. Bea
McClenaghan, Home Economist
for Huron County reported on
senior work shops and 4-H clubs
in area. After dinner the after-
noon session opened with singing
of "Hymn of all Nations."
'Guest speaker introduced by
Mrs. Charles Mathers, Bluevale,
was Robert Carbert, General
Manager of the Agriculture
Museum, Milton Ontario. He was
in past years with C.K.N.X.

He said anyone is welcome to
tour the museum on the south
side of 401 on a 93 acre site. For
more than five in a group,
reservations should be made
ahead with Mary Robertson at the
museum. At present anyone can
tour free of charge. Mrs. Wilfred
Strickler, Cranbrook thanked Mr.
Carbert.
There was a very impressive
display of paintings done by local
artists, also 2 house logs and 1
community bit on display to be
judged in competition. Mrs. Jim
Armstrong, Bluevale, --had on
sale, articles, concerning the
ploughing match. She also said
are= to serve at the banquet and
some will usher.
Next year the annual meeting
will be in Fotdwich. Lakelet and
Molesworth supplied the enter-
tainment for the day.
