that the Cranbrook W.I. area
cancer campaign canvass •was a
great success, with area residents
donating the sum of $464.20 to
this_ worthy cause. This is a
substantial increase over last
year. Canvassers were Jeah
Conley, Vernice PreScott, Olga
Speiran, Yvonne Knight, Sharon
. Evans, Dale Knight, Eleanor
Stevenson, Brenda Perrie and
Beryl Smith.
The W.I. of Cranbrook and
Moncrieff are planning a bus trip
.for June 13 to the African Safari
at Rockton, then to Dundurn
Castle at Hamilton and a tour of
the city with guidedinner and the
Royal Britannia Gardens. Anyone
interested in this trip is asked to
contact Mrs. Jim Hart or Mrs.
Tom Baker before May 31 for

There was high drama and
excitement in the F. E. Madill
Secondary School gym last
Wednesday night when the
Madill Junior Badminton Team
emerged triumphant in the
Huron-Perth Badminton
Championships. The fine play by
the Madill Juniors was• too much
for the other schools to ovprcome
as they finished • 16 team points
ahead of last year's winner, South
Huron District High School, to
take the trophy.
