Lewis Slonehouse 8r -9847 Fire broke out in the former Charles Nicholson barn now owned by Mrs. Shirley Weldon of Toronto on Thursday evening about 11 p.m. Jack Van Camp was able to use garden hose on the fire until the Wingham Fire Department arrived and brought the blaze under control. The May meeting of the Belgrave Women's Institute will be held May 16 atthe W:l. Hall at &15 p.m. The convener is Mrg. William Fenton*. The Roll Call will be answered by "An Agricultural • Product and its use". Mrs. Lyle Gordon of Cranbrook will speak on Broiler Industry. Lunch com- mittee will be Mrs. William Coultes and Mrs. John Anderson. • Thirty children attended the Messengers in the Knox United Church Sunday School room on Sunday morning. A lively game was led by Andrea Coultes. The offering was received and dedicated by all joining in prayer. After a short discussion period an "Mother's Day" and "what cur Mother's do for us". The children enjoyed making a small flower arrangement. It was decided that if there were more than one in a family attending that one craft may be given to Mother, another to a Grandmother or a sick friend. Those helping with the group were Mrs. Robert Taylor, Mtt. Murray Vincent, Mrs. Jack Higgins, Joan Higgins, Andrea Coultes, Meribeth and Melanie W.M.S. Meets The W.M.S. met at the home of Mrs. Victor Youngblut May 1.' Mrs. George Fear presided and opened with a reading. Scripture Shower held for Louise Procter A community shower was held in the United Church Sunday School room on Wednesday May 3, in honour of Louise Procter. Piano selections were played by Alison Roberts and piano duets by Doreen and Sheila Anderson. The Bride4o-be, her mother Mrs. Ross Procter and grand- mother Mrs. Alice Procter were mated in decorated chairs and each were presented with a corsage. Mrs. Garner Nicholson read an address and Jennifer and Karen Procter assisted in presenting the gifts. Louise expressed her thanks to everyone for all the kindness extended to her. ' Clarke Johnston accompanied by Mrs. Geotge Johnston on the piano supplied the entertainment along with a film "Hockey Is". Each player of evry team received a picture of their team. Personals The 4-H Achievement Day for the Homemaking Clubs of this area was held in Blyth Public School on Saturday 32 girls from the two Belgrave Clubs participated. , Mrs. Cliff Logan visited last, week with Mr. and Mrs. Barry, Logan and family of Burlington,, Mr. and Mrs. Americo Arrucla and family of, Toronto. Due to a book exchange the BeIgnive Library would like all books returned by-June 13. 4, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hibberd\ visited on Sunday with Mr, and. Mrs. Kenneth Lickly and Wayne Milverton, Mrs,. Robert Higgins returned home last Monday from a trip to Boynton, Forida where she visited with her sister Mrs. Gertude Kelly. Mr.. and Mrs. Harvey Edgar and Joanne, Mr. and,Mrs. Lewis. Stonehouse visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Maitland Edgar and. family of Petrolia.
