β THE BRUSSELS POST, APRIL 26, 1978
ALPHA tours arena
Ralph and\Pat Watson recently
gave members of ALPHA Huron
a tour of Brussels' new arena.
Member's were particularly in-
terested in the \building's com-
plete accessibility to the hand-
icapped. An elevator makes it
possible for wheelchair users to
reach the second floor where
activities on the ice can be viewed
in comfort. Washrooms at both
levels are usable by the hand-
icapped.
Congratulations to the people
of the Brussels' area, who
planned and built this community
centre.
Melville
hears
trip to
Holy Land
A large attendance of members
Melville Guild gathered in the
church parlour April '18 when
Valerie Shortreed opened the
meeting and Winnifred Edgar
lead in prayer.
Following thescripture reading
taken from Matthew 5, Judy
Shortreed read poem entitled
"Ten Little Christians."
Mrs. Edgar introduced guest
Mrs. Margaret Kelly who took
members on her recent
"Pilgrimage to the Holy Land."
She commenced with her reasons
for wanting to gu to the Holy
land, because it was Easter Time
and to "Walk in the Foot Steps of
Jesus". But her main reason was
to renew an acquaintance with the
Bishop, of Jerusalem, whom she
had met 18 years ago.
Through her slides and cassette
opmentary she explained such
items as the Basilica, The Wailing
Wall and the Golan Heights. Her
talk was educational for all and
Mrs. Edgar expressed thanks.
The business included a
teachers banquet on April 25
and a Spring Time Dinner on
Wed. May 31. Tickets are avail-
able from any member of the
Guild.
