Mrs. John Vanass was hostess
for the April meeting of the
W.M.S. on Wednesday evening.
The president, Mrs, Stuart
Stevenson opened the meeting
with a brief reading.
Mrs. Wilfred Strickler, the
leader read "The Oldest Easter
Message", and the Hymn "The.
Day of Resurrection" was read,
Mrs. Stuart. McNair, Mrs. Vanass
and Mrs. George Smith each
An ambitious venture into the
Ontario antique and crafts market
is planned. The Myth Centre for
the Arts, which sponsors profes-
sional theatre during the summer
months.
On. Saturday, May 20, the
Blyth Community Centre will
house .more than 40 specially
screened crafts aratisans and
4intique dealers from all over
Ontario, Lynda Lentz, the
exhibition . convenor explained
that many craft shows are losing
public appeal because of a
general deterioration in profes-
sionalism, both at the organiza-
twnal and crafts level: HoWever,
shows .‘vhich feature only the
tinest wares of craftsmen . and
high quality antique dealers enjoy
enormous success. All partici-
pants in this exhibition have been
carefully screened by a se leetion
committee, resulting in. a first-
class display of weaving, pottery,
leatherwork, stained glass. wood-
work Canadianna, and many
other • products. •
One well-known exhibitor will
be Blanche Pownall Garrett, a
successful Canadian author
whose books on using and
preserving wild fruits and herbs
are finding their way into many
Ontario kitchens. Mrs. Garrett
will be on hand to autograph her.

prayer. All members took part in

Mrs. Strickler gave a. reading,

call was .an Easter verse. Mrs.
Vapass read the minutes and an
invitation was received to a
meeting in Atwood on May 31.

is Mrs. Gordon Alexander, R.. R.
#4, Listowel.

The show runs from 10 a.m. to
5 p.m.-at the Blyth Community
Centre and will include a
refreshment area and bake table.

they have read. "Norma
Zimmer" was recommended and
discussed, Birthday money was,
paid by 2 members,. Mrs, Strickler
and Mrs. Mac Engel offered to.
give out the "Alive" pamphlets
on Sunday morning. Mrs. Jack
Knight will be hostess for the
May meeting on May 3,
A reading "if God. went on
strike" was given by Mrs, Earl
!Dunn, The Hymn "Rejoice, the
Lord is King" was. sung and all
repeated the Mizliah Benediction,
Mrs. Stanley Fischer and Mrs.
Jack Knight assisted the hostess
with lunch.
Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Cotton of
North Bay visited recently with
Mr, and Mrs. Don Cotton..
Mr. and Mrs. Clare Veitch
returned borne on Friday from a
bus trip to New Orleans.
John Schnock is a patient in
,.Listowel Memorial Hospital
where he underwent surgery last
week.
